SPRING FLING DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT Have you tried Disc Golf? Are you already finding yourself sneaking out at lunch or in the evenings just to hear the sound of the plastic hitting chains? Whether you are a beginner, novice, or advanced player, this event is for you. Derry Township Parks & Recreation and Hershey Area Disc Golf
present our first Spring Fling Tournament. We will have two divisions for this non-sanctioned event - Beginners and Advanced. Beginner division will receive a new disc and towel for entering, with a
chance to win more discs. Advanced division players will play for either cash prizes or discs. Prizes will be awarded based on final standings at the end of two rounds. The two rounds of golf will be in a doubles "best throw" format. Bring your own partner or be paired up with another single player. On each throw, you get to decide who has the better shot, and from that spot you each get to throw the next shot. It's an exciting way to work as a team - take risks, play it safe, or strategize based on your skills. Teams will remain the same for both rounds, and the lowest combined score at the end of two rounds will be ranked in order. Entry fees: Beginner = 10.00 each player, Advanced = 15.00 each player. We will offer a learn-to-play kick off at 9:00 am for beginners with expert tips on throwing, putting, etc. Tournament meeting will be at 9:45, with tee off at 10:00am. We look forward to seeing you there!

“Backyard Pollinator Habitat” Grace United Methodist Church, Hummelstown
Pollinators are some of the most important animals on the planet. A vast majority of plants need them to reproduce. They are critical
members of the food web. Human agriculture and economies lean on them heavily. But alarmingly, global pollinator populations are
plummeting, due largely to our sterile modern landscape. The good news is that anyone with a backyard can help provide habitat for
these wonderful, essential insects! Ryan Davis, Pennsylvania Forests Program Manager for the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay,
will discuss native pollinators in detail, from their biology to specific ways you can improve your property to give these "good bugs"
a home!
Join us for an evening of inspiring ideas, just in time for spring planting season!
This program is free and open to the public. Please register by contacting Manada Conservancy at [email protected] or 717-566-4122.

Hershey Recreation Center
March 10, 2019
Hershey Recreation Center The Hershey Recreation Center has served our community well since 1963, and countless memories have been made at the current facility. The time has finally come to look to the future, and we have closed our doors to the public for the final time on Sunday, March 10th. We are excited about the new community center that will be constructed over the next 14 months and we are thrilled about the additional recreational opportunities that will be created. We would like to thank all of our members and residents for all of their support over the past 56 years and we looking forward to serving you for decades to come in the new community center that is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2020.
