UPDATE

ON THE NEW BREAST CANCER UNIT APPEAL

The Appeal for the New Breast Cancer Unit at

Yeovil Hospital has now reached over

£1,852,000 of the £2 million needed.

We are having a big push to reach the target

so we can start building the unit as soon as

possible. With this in mind we are still

collecting unwanted and broken jewellery

and watches as this fundraiser for the appeal

is helping us to raise the money.

Again we are so grateful to those who have

already donated and if you felt you could

help us by looking in your jewellery box to help

the appeal for this much needed unit for

women and men we would so appreciate it.

(appeal committee member)

*No Talking Cafes on Bank Holidays

We know many people have enjoyed our online Talking Cafe Facebook live sessions during lockdown,

and we are still continuing these, as it’s a great way to share information to many people in Somerset,

but due to reopening at so many venues, we have reduced the online sessions to weekly, Wednesdays

at 1pm on www.facebook.com/talkingcafesomerset.

You can still watch any previous Talking Café sessions here: www.somersetagents.org/talking-cafes/

covering every subject you can imagine, from dementia support to hearing loss and mental health. So

many fantastic informative films you can watch anytime; most are around 30 minutes long.

Unpaid Carers Website Relaunch!

We are delighted to announce we have revamped our website for unpaid Carers in Somerset –

www.somersetcarers.org – which now includes the Carers Hub – an online place where you can easily

search for exactly the right support and advice for yourself or the person you care for, with training

videos, links to Somerset based agencies, respite options and more.

We’d love to know what you think of it, and hope you find it really useful in your day-to-day lives.

If there is something missing, or you would like your service listed please email

[email protected] with your feedback.

We can offer advice and support to find local groups and activities available in

your community and help you with any queries you may
