Pentecost Sunday Pastor’s Message
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On various Friday nights, a Parish Pastoral Team has organized visiting our families and small groups of friends in their homes. The team over the past few months has included Father Marcelino, Nazareth our Youth Coordinator, Estefania, a Young Adult from our Parish, and myself. The format of each visit is very simple. First, we offer a blessing upon the home and sprinkle the rooms the family wants with Holy Water. Then we sit down with the family and pray the rosary together. Next, we have a simple snack and fellowship conversation with the family members. We have asked the families not to make us dinner so as not to complicate the evenings and to not make the nights go too late. We arrive at 7:00 pm and leave at 8:30 pm. We leave the family with a statue of the Holy Family and a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These nights have offered a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know better the families within our parish and to listen to some of their ideas and to encourage them in their prayer and faith lives. On the Sunday after our visit, at either the 9:30 am Mass or the 12:00 pm Mass, the family is invited to process forward with the Statue of the Holy Family after Communion and receive a blessing before the whole community. We hope to visit all the families in our parish but we have begun with the families that have children participating in our youth group. Eventually our visits will extend to small groups of friends who would come together in a home. Up to the present date, we have visited six homes. Please keep our Pastoral Team and the families of our parish in your prayers. God Bless you always!
Fr. Michael
