ETHAN & AMY SOLOMONWhere did you live before Atlanta? Kew Gardens Hills in Queens, NY

What is something unique and surprising about yourselves? We are both originally from Atlanta, but never knew each other before! We met at a wedding of two Alanta friends in Israel, and then we got married in Beth Jacob. Amy is the granddaughter of longtime BJ member Mel Gorowitz. Ethan is part of the Solomon family Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelers in Sandy Springs.

What are some hobbies you enjoy doing together? Learning together, traveling the world (pre COVID times), reading, and playing guitar

During 5780, we were blessed to welcome 30 new member families into our neighborhood and Shul, representing more than 50 adults and 70 children! In these pages, you will see selected profiles of those who are either new to the Shul or new to the neighborhood. Especially during these times when we aren’t congregating in Shul the same way, we encourage you to reach out and give them a hearty Southern welcome.

Please also join us this Sunday from 12:00pm - 1:30pm as we greet some of the new members in person during our drive thru BBQ in the Beth Jacob parking lot.

Where did you live before Atlanta? David is from Chicago and San Diego, and Leah grew up in Atlanta - she is the daughter of Jeff & Renee Levene.

What is something unique and surprising about yourselves? Leah participated in a shomer shabbos kosher medical mission to Nepal!

What are some hobbies you enjoy doing together? Puzzling and archery

What are your professions? David is a clinical massage therapist.

ARI & MIRYAM, GAVRIEL (11), ELCHANAN (8), AND ORA (6) BENDICOFF

Where did you live before moving here? We moved from Dunwoody, and before that we were in Baltimore.

Where do your children go to school? Gavriel is starting school at AJA for the first time this year, Elchanan and Ora will continue homeschooling.

What are your professions? Ari works in pharmacy healthcare technology, and Miryam is a full-time homeschool mom and part-time web developer and Hebrew tutor.

What is something unique and surprising about yourselves? We have 5 pets, Ari worked at Disney World and we all love Disney, and Miryam is a descendent of the great Rabbi Pinchas MeKoretz.

What are some hobbies you enjoy doing together? Puzzles and board games are our favorites. We also like hiking, rescuing and adopting animals, reading and more.

Anything else you want to add? We can't wait for Corona to end, we love having Shabbat guests and can't wait to get to know everyone.

What are some hobbies you enjoy doing together? Skiing, kayaking, reading, tennis, golf, horesback riding, and hiking.

Where did you live before Atlanta? We are longtime BJ members who have lived in Atanta for many years, but recently moved to Toco Hills. Harve is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and Gail is originally from Queens, NY.

Where do your children go to school? Aaron goes to YOY and Georgia State (Dual Enrollment) and Leah goes to Temima.

What are your professions? Harve is an attorney and Gail is a Medical Practice Manager/COO

What is something unique and surprising about yourself or any family member? When we travel (see below), we like to visit the childhood homes of US Presidents, as well as various baseball stadiums.

JONATHAN & ILENE MILLER

Where did you live before Atlanta? We are longtime BJ members who recently started spending more time in Toco Hills. Jon is from Kentucky and Ilene is from Texas.

What are your professions? Jonathan is a CPA and Ilene works in Medical Nutrition.

What are some hobbies you enjoy doing together? Travel. Our family trained and ran 26 Peachtree Road races. Jon enjoys family, sports and Westerns, Ilene enjoys family, research, outside gardening, perpetual learning, and creative stuff, and we all enjoy community service.

Anything else you want to add? We are enjoying our Toco Shabbos home and look forward to attending Shul iy'H in the near future.

Where did you live before Atlanta? We have been residents of Georgia for the last 20 years, and recently moved to Toco Hills.

Where do your children go to school? Devorah and Shmuel were homeschooled until two years ago. Devorah spent last year as a part time student at Temima for Judaics, and studied at home for general studies. She will be graduating high school in a few months. Shmuel is in his second year at Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael.

What is something unique and surprising about yourselves? We each have some artistic ability. Boaz is a metal engraver and is currently working on a project for a famous, custom motorcycle company in California. Sara Chana graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in Art History and was an Art Conservator at the Isabella Steward Gardner Museum in Boston, MA for many years. Devorah is an insanely talented portrait artist who has already received many private commissions, and Shmuel is a magician-in-training whose sleight of hand makes him a master of card tricks.

What are your professions? Boaz works for Kubota Corporation as the head of Dealer Support and has also been an expert metal engraver for the last 25 years. Sara Chana was recently appointed Executive Director of Congregation Beth Tefillah in Sandy Springs.

What are some hobbies you enjoy? We are a family that really enjoys being together. We like taking hikes, watching movies, playing games, taking road trips and just being our crazy, goofy selves.

Anything else you want to add? We are very happy and excited to be part of this community and look forward to meeting y'all.
