    Multi-length Pad (1/3) You can extrude multiple profiles belonging to a same sketchusing different length values. The multi-pad capability lets youdo this at one time.

    Select the Multi-lengthpad icon

    The Pad Definition dialogbox is displayed. You cansee the number of domainsto be extruded.

    2 Select the Sketch.Note that all profilesmust be closed andmust not intersect.

    Multi-length Pad (2/3) You can extrude multiple profiles belonging to a same sketch using different length values.The multi-pad capability lets you do this at one time.

    A red arrow is displayed normal tothe sketch. It indicates the proposedextrusion direction. To reverse it,you just need to click it.

    45 Select a Domain in the list. This one now

    appears in blue in the geometry area.

    Specify the length by entering a value.For example, enter 20mm. Repeat theoperation for each extrusion domain.

    Click OK to create the Multi-heightPad.

    Note that you can multiselectextrusion domain from thelist before defining a

    common length or thickness.

    The Pocket Definitiondialog box is displayed. Youcan see the number ofdomains to be extruded.

    Extracting Geometry (1/2)The Extract capability lets you generate separate elements from initial geometry, without deletinggeometry. This operation may be especially useful to solve difficulties when drafting for example.

    Use the Draft command to draft thepad with 10 as angle value forexample.

    2 Once done, the application informsyou that the operation cannot beproperly achieved.

    Extracting Geometry (2/2)

    A new dialog box displays providing you with asolution. You can deactivate the draft and extract itsgeometry. To do so, click Yes.

    The Extract capability lets you generate separate elements from initial geometry, without deletinggeometry. This operation may be especially useful to solve difficulties when drafting for example.

    4 5 Draft.1 appears as deactivated in the specificationtree. A node "Extracted Geometry" is displayed inthe tree too. This category includes the elementscreated by the application, namely five surfaces.

    You can now use Generative ShapeDesign capabilities to complete thedraft.

    Shell Update (1/2)After a sketch modification, a text is displayed about the previousface.

    Enter the Sketcher to replace the circular edge ofthe initial sketch with a line, then return to PartDesign.

    2Then, close the Update Diagnosis dialog box.

    Shell Update (2/2)After a sketch modification, a text is displayed about the previous face.

    Double-click on Shell.1 in the Specification Tree. The FeatureDefinition Error window displays, prompting you to changespecifications. Moreover, the old face you have just deleted isnow displayed in yellow. Click OK to close the window. The ShellDefinition dialog box appears.

    Note that the text "Removed Face" is displayed close to the face,thus giving you a better indication of the face that has beenremoved.

    4 Click the Faces to remove field if not already done and selectthe replacing face. Click OK to close the Shell Definition dialogbox and obtain a correct part. The shell feature is rebuilt.
