Regardless of what others do, I must not be numbered amongst those who are simply observers in the work of the Lord.

It is simply stated in God’s word that those who are converted to Christ will be active in God’s work.

(Matthew 25:14-30 NKJV) “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. {15} “And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.

{16} “Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. {17} “And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. {18} “But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money…..

{24} “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. {25} ‘And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

{26} “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. {27} ‘So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. {28} ‘Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

{29} ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. {30} ‘And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

(1 Corinthians 3:11-16 NKJV) For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. {12} Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, {13} each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.

{14} If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. {15} If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. {16} Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

Without proper leadership and example a church often follows the example of fear. “Let us avoid any trouble!” Often this means running from our problems and sitting and doing nothing.

Backward Christian SoldiersBackward Christian soldiers,

fleeing from the fight,With the cross of Jesus clearly out of sight:

Christ our rightful Master stands against the foe,But forward into battle we are chicken to go.

Like a mighty tortoise moves the church of God;

Brothers we are treading where we've often trod,

We are much divided, many bodies we,Having different doctrines, not much charity.Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms

rise and wane,But the Church of Jesus hidden does remain;

We have Christ's own promise, but think that it will fail.

Sit here, then, ye people, join our useless throng;

Blend with ours your voices in a feeble song.

God is asking us to step out of our comfort zone.

God wants us to get busy doing His work. Can I find ways that I have not tried before to
