Wild Food ramble - Foraging classes Discover a delightful variety

of foods and folk medicine that can be gathered from the wild, and in your own backyard. We’ll talk about safe harvesting practices, and each session will include hands on cooking or folk medicine preparation. This class will meet rain or shine (unless there are considerable winds and/or lightning.) Fitness ballet core Get ready to have fun! This class is designed for

anyone looking to exercise and learn basic dance technique. This class will include core-strengthening warm-ups, fun combinations, and an introduction to leaps and turns! Spring edibles Learn to identify, harvest and prepare wild morel mushrooms. Students will learn to identify all forms of true and false morels, as well as how to prepare them for the table. We will also discuss Oyster mushrooms and Pheasants Back mushrooms along with several edible spring plants. Emphasis will be put on safety and ethical harvest. Tavis Lynch is a 30 year veteran of harvesting wild mushrooms and is a certified expert by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. He also owns Tavis’s Mushrooms, an exotic mushroom farm near Cumberland, WI.

Wild mushrooms 101Join us for this great opportunity to learn from a 30-year veteran of wild mushroom foraging! This is a classroom session covering the ‘three rules + one’ and the ‘safe six’: Morels, shaggy manes, hen of the woods, chicken mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and puffballs. Topics include tree identification, ethics, safety, storage and preparation. Poisonous mushrooms will also be discussed. Your instructor, Tavis Lynch, is a certified expert by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and owns Tavis’s Mushrooms.
