In only its first year, the PartnersCampus initiative has already

surpassed our expectations and is quickly becoming a major avenue of engagement for the Partners of the Americas network of volunteers. Through the student chapters, Partners is reaching a new generation of volunteers and inspiring today’s youth to share our mission to Connect, Serve and Change Lives in the Americas.

Meanwhile, our network is being revitalized with fresh new energy, talent and leadership. We are growing as an organization, with new student chapters in Puebla Mexico, Nariño and Barranquilla Colombia, Washington DC, Laramie Wyoming, Clemson South Carolina, San Pablo Bolivia and in a number of other locations spread throughout the hemisphere.

As we gather in Washington, DC for the PartnersCampus First Annual Convention, let us explore the richness and depth of this engagement strategy and identify room for growth, synergy and collaboration among all the distinct parts of our network. Keep in mind these primary Convention Objectives as you meet your fellow PartnersCampus members and supporters.

1) To get our student members together face-to-face to solidify our network, share best practices and build partnerships for the coming year

2) To spread awareness of the PartnersCampus initiative, create learning opportunities between emerging student leaders and experienced Partner volunteers, and demonstrate the importance of PartnersCampus to the Partners network at large and to potential founders of PartnersCampus student chapters

3) To explore together how student-led, international service projects can best make an impact in the Americas while providing a valuable and enriching experience for the students

This gathering of minds marks a crucial moment for Partners of the Americas as a whole and for the PartnersCampus initiative and will have an indelible impact on our development in the hemisphere. Together, we can show that students are a powerful source of strength in the day-to-day fight to improve American communities and that through service we can all change lives.
