MIDDLE AGESPeople who had an advanced knowledge during the time, developed a music form called “Gregorian chant”. It’s a boring song with a single melody sung by monks without instrumental accompaniment. It was religious music. An example of an instrument is the harp.

RENAISSANCE In the renaissance instrumental music is born and it describes a very happy situation in life and it is sung by mixed voices. In terms of secular music, the “Madrigal” appeared .

BAROQUE Musical period in which opera is born. The oratorio appeared in the Baroque as a musical form. It's a concert that is interpreted with one or a variety of instruments of the orchestra.

• Classical music appeared and it is based on a few characteristics related to Greek and Roman music.

• In the romanticism, they based music on written lyrics, trying to express love and other feelings.
