A Few Simple Words……..from Fr. Robert
50 Years for God and His People Today is a beautiful day for all of us to celebrate. Just over 60 years ago a skinny kid from the Eastside of Buffalo joined the Conventual Franciscan Order. His dream was simple, he wanted to give his life away to God and to God’s people and that’s pre-cisely what he has done. This year Fr. Charles is ordained a priest for 50 years. He has served the Church in Catholic Educa-tion for most of his life. He has influenced countless young men and women by his example and sacrifice. We here at St. Paul were lucky to get him on the end of his journey, just before his retirement. He has happily served the Church here in Kensing-ton for 3 years. We are grateful for his sacrifices and we are so very grateful for the gift of his life to Christ and the Church. When you see Fr. Charles around town, please stop and thank him for his service. I hope that many of our parishioners will join us either for the Mass at 12:00 Noon or the reception at 1:00 this Sunday to celebrate this special day for all of us. Parish Center closed at 12:00 PM on Fridays during the Month of July Just a reminder that we close the Parish Center on Fridays at 12:00 Noon so that our parish secretaries can enjoy a little extra time with their families during the summer. Four New Friar Priests for the Church Last Friday I had the privilege of attending the ordination of 4 new Friar Priests in Buffalo. They are 4 young men ready and very willing to give their lives to God’s people humbly and gener-ously. I know that the Church is changing and will continue to change. I know that in the future parishes will be fewer in num-ber. We all know that, but I also trust that there will always be someone behind the altar to give us the Bread of Life and in the confessional to share God’s mercy with us. Write down these names and remember to pray for them everyday. Our new priests are Fathers, Manny, Max, Milton and Luis. May the Lord who has begun good things in these 4 men bring them to fulfill-ment.
Boiler Project The boiler project is progressing nicely. All of the pipes in the heating system were treated with a special chemical to re-move any rust or impurities. The Church boiler room, which was filled with asbestos, has been abated and the old boiler from 1964 has been cut into pieces and is in the process of being removed. Soon all of the old pumps will be removed and an entirely new state of the art heating system will be installed in its place. There will be three small extremely effi-cient boilers the size of a small refrigerator to replace the mammoth old oil/gas burning boiler which functioned at roughly 50% efficiency. When this project is completed, our beautiful church will have state of the art heating and cooling systems and it will be up to the next generation to replace them in 30 years. Thank you so much for your generosity. A Place for our Young people. It has always been our dream that our young people would feel welcome and excited about being a part of our parish. Here is what we have planned for them this summer. The Al-tar Servers are going to Lake Compounce again, the Masters of Ceremony are going to the Jersey Shore for a weekend with our friars there. Almost 3 times the number of High School kids are going to The Steubenville Youth Conference this year. Every Thursday there is Pick-up Basketball for teen-agers in our School. The High School Kids meet every other week for activities like Bowling ,an outdoor movie, cookouts and a bonfire etc. The Middle School is meeting during July and August and there are all sorts of events planned for them. Our College kids enjoy a couple of bonfires and our annual send-off picnic at the end of the summer. I am so excited and grateful that we are making great progress in this program thanks to our Youth Minister, John Imbimbo. Keep your eye on Facebook and the parish website for more details. Things are going great. They’re here Summer Camp has started and our playground, gym and school are filled with lots of laughter. Once again, our high school and college students spend their time entertaining our little ones. They will become like big brothers and sisters to the campers, and by the end of the summer, there will be tears as they part. A special thank you to everyone who makes our summer program the success that it is every year. Please Read This It appears that we’ve been hacked again. The email says “I need your help please email me ASAP.” I don’t need help, I’m fine, I’m not in Nigeria and I will never ask you for money via an email. If you look at the sending email address it’s not even me. Please, please do not be taken advantage of.

MANY THANKS
TO OUR ADVERTISERS!
Let us Remember, Freedom is not free As we celebrate this Fourth of July weekend, let’s remember to pause for a moment and say a prayer for our young men and women who are serving in our Armed Forces. Our Free-dom was hard earned and is difficult to protect. So many people in the world do not share the freedom or the prosperi-ty that we do. We have so much to be grateful for.
