Church News Church News Church News Pastor’s Lines Dear Church Family, We had a lively business meeting last Wednesday night. Sometimes that statement can make you cringe, but let me assure you that the business meeting was a good thing. Here are a couple of highlights. We are restarting Wednesday night suppers after Labor Day. We are excited that Louise and Terry Lavergne will be cooking great meals, and Mrs. Linda Patterson will be overseeing this ministry of the church. Wednesday night supper has always been about ministry, with a philosophy of providing a nutritious meal to families so that the family can attend Wednesday night activities. We also want to create a place where the church family can conger gate and get to know one another in a casual atmosphere. We look forward to enjoying the food, fellowship, and increased ministry participation on Wednesdays!! We are restarting “Pumpkin Patch”. Noni Sonnier and others are passionate about this Fall Event that attracts over 1000 people to our church property. We will have pumpkins, (duh!), food, snacks, carnival activi- ties, etc. for our church family and for our communi- ty. Ward Elementary students are invited to attend on the weekdays. It will be a great outreach event. We have candidates ready for a New Member Class. The class will start after Labor Day. If you are interested in attending the New Members Class (4 weeks during Sunday School), please let me know. We want you to be a member!! We are starting a Monday Night Visitation Program after Labor Day. I want to ask you to pray about committing an hour a week (on Monday Nights) to assist in visiting our church family, as well as visiting our guests that attend our church. We will be learning how to share our FAITH, and assist in growing our church, by reaching more people. We are glad to welcome Broken Vessels worship and min- istry team to our church today. Broken Vessels has served the church for 20 years, in church services, in camps, and in recorded music. We are thrilled to enjoy their ministry here today. Please be prepared to give a generous love offering to support their work. Enjoy. Blessings, Dr. j PS We are glad to welcome guests to our worship service today.
