What advice could you give to the younger
generation about long lasting marriages?
"To always be willing to be flexible. Not only with your
children, but with you spouse as well!"
~Residents Charles and Grace Hammond, married 67 years
"Stick it out and remember it will get better!"
~Residents Arnold and Roz Dano, married 62 years
The month of February is full of exciting events to help our
Residents and the Community to Thrive! Not only is it the month for
President's and Valentine's Day, but also for some fun and exciting
Watermark University classes taught by Residents, Volunteers
and Employees! Resident Meg has her class, Adult Coloring, which
meets every Wednesday at 10:00am in the King Arthur Room. It has
been proven that adult coloring is therapeutic and is also great for
your motor skills. For more great classes being offered, please check
the daily sheet or grab a catalog, which is located in the lobby.
If you would like a catalog/information or would like to teach a class,
please call Gina at 815/477-6582.

February 2020
The Inn
Baby it’s cold outside! Inside,
however, it's warm and
THRIVING! We will be toasty
warm while cheering Super
Bowl LIV on Sunday, February
2, at 5:00pm. Do we have any
wagers on which team will
win?? Then we will have our
popular Candlelight Dinner
with music by Violinist, Sarah Papic on Thursday, February 13th, at
6:30pm. Finally rounding out the month, we will be celebrating
Valentine's Day with a Valentine's Day Social with music
by LaVerne Bobkowski on Friday, February 14 from 2:00-3:00pm.
February is indeed a great month to THRIVE! with The Fountains,
where Super Bowl parties, Candlelight Dinners, Valentine’s Day
Socials, and friends abound with love and good cheer.
XOXO,
Amy Dunn, Executive Director
Love is in
the Air! You gotta have heart...and we do! Wehave a four-chambered organ thatpumps blood through our bodies. We
think of our hearts as the center of
personality, intuition or feeling. "In your
heart, you know ...;" We place our hand
over it when we pledge allegiance to the
flag. We find solace in a heartfelt
embrace, an honest conversation is a
"heart-to-heart", a difficult conversation
as "breaking my heart." When conveying
the truth, we say, “I cross my heart and
hope to die”. As we age, the word "heart"
seems to be used more frequently in
overcoming cardiac challenges and
discussions about the need to change
eating habits to something more "heart-
healthy." But, let’s “get to the heart” of
this conversation…and ”follow your
heart”!
Path to Well-Being
February is the month of love, and we are seeing plenty of it here with our
many couples who are married or soon-to-be married! Here at the
Fountains, we enjoy seeing Residents make new friends, and LOVE seeing
Residents who find an even closer connection with each other! Connie and
John both moved into the Fountains in 2018 as single Residents and now
are happily engaged! Both Connie and John are active in the Community
with being involved in the Ambassador Club and you can always see them
walking around talking and helping out other Residents. We asked this
newly engaged couple, what advice could you give to others and they said,
"Remember, your're never too old to be in love!" Make sure to take a trip
down the "Tunnel of Love" and see the wedding photos of many of our
Residents living here.
Thriving
