INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM

SUNSHINE BEACH MUSIC PROGRAMMusic education is an integral part of the Australian National Curriculum and is a core learning area in which all learners from Prep to year 6 participate.

At Sunshine Beach State School we believe every child can achieve success through music. A positive and supportive environment is provided to encourage risk taking and active learning.

The classroom music program uses a developmental, sequential and cumulative approach to the teaching and learning of musical skills and concepts.

Students participate in a range of activities including reading, writing, creating, presenting and responding to music through the use of body movement, vocal and instrumental work.

with which they can explore and create their own music Printed and digital media offer sequential learning tasks through which learners build skills and

confidence Learners are motivated to move freely to music they enjoy. This encourages genuine

responses to new and familiar music
