Physicians Prescribing There are approximately 7-10 family physicians prescribing OAT in our community. A Nurse Practi-tioner at ACT Medical clinic also prescribes.
ODP Clinic Clients can self-refer or be referred by their family physician (see attached referral form). The ODP clinic provides services to clients such as prescribing OAT (methadone, suboxone) and Kadian, sup-porting with counselling and treatment plans, connecting to other programs and services, consult-ing with healthcare providers and working with clients to set and reach goals. The program is for anyone who is addicted to or dependent on opioids. Currently patients are sent back to their family physician for other prescriptions, and the ODP clinic will continue to prescribe the OAT. This may change now that suboxone does not require a triplicate, but there have been no set changes made yet. Please see attached forms with additional information on the ODP clinic.
