Objective:Contemporary human society is very much inundated with technology. Almost every fortnight there is a new gadget or a new technology, making the older one obsolete or out-of-fashioned. Such rapidly accelerating pace of change in technology in contemporary times demands a new set of skills from everyone. The new skills- whether Soft or Hard, are imperative to the new technologies. The technical and economic developments have changed just not the workplace but also the entire social scenario. It has been iterated time and again that success in contemporary world accentuates very much upon communication. Amidst such vibrant scenario, the Communication is witnessing a drastic change, and is calling for innovative teaching learning activities involving modern-day communication methodologies and trends. With the easy availability of information through smart technologies- teachers, students and teaching tools also require also need to be smarter and technically advances than before. AICON '19 solicits critical analysis/ observations of scholars, teachers and professionals related to Professional Communication and ELT. About the Institute :Chhatrapati Shivaji Institute of Technology (CSIT) is one of the most reputed colleges in Chhattisgarh and Central India. Since its inception in 1999, it has a brilliant track-record of academic achievements and research activities. The college is run by Shivnath Shikshan & Seva Samiti which oversees the managerial affairs and dedicates itself in providing quality technical and professional education. CSIT is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai. Its departments are accredited by NBA. opportunities and requisite platform to researchers, CSIT has been
organizing All India Conference (AICON) in Mechanical Engineering,
Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering,
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics
Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering and Basic
Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) & Humanities English
(Comm. Skills). The tremendous response from Academic & Industrial
fraternity from all over the country for previous editions of AICON has th th thmotivated us to organize AICON-19 (11 Edition) during 26 – 27 April,
2019. We live in complex society with quick access to information,
rapidly changing and ability to collaborate on a global scale. Today's
students love technology. But to prepare for tomorrow's success, they stneed to be able to use technology to develop 21 Century skills. This has
thencouraged us to organize AICON-19 (11 Edition) with theme “New
Age Skills” but not limited to, on a much bigger Canvas.
“New Age Skills” conference will be an opportunity for researchers/
academicians to indulge in deliberation/exchange views and ideas on
most hot, debatable and addressed issue today.

C.S.I.T is located on Balod Road Shivaji Nagar near Kolihapuri, P.O. Pisegaon, Durg and approximately 2 km away from the National Highway 6 (Howrah –Mumbai route) on which Durg –Bhilai twin cities are situated . The CSIT campus is 5.5 km. away from Durg Bus Terminal and approx 8 KM from Durg Railway Junction which is well connected to the major cities of India by Rail. Mana airport situated Raipur is about 40 Kms far from the college.
About the Department:The Department of English (Professional Communication Skills) devotes to embellish the communication skills of the students through a wide range of teaching-learning activities. The Department has well qualified dedicated faculties who facilitate the students to acquire competencies in formal and informal communication so that they can impressively address to the needs of the hour.The Department has a well equipped language laboratory to provide the students adequate practice in language acquisition, group discussion, public speaking and other related skills. The Department is also engaged in creating innovative methods for teaching communication skills and in organizing personality development modules. The Department traces its existence since the inception of the college i.e. 1999.The Department has been successfully organizing annual conference since 2014.
