scale/frame/format response
The orignal characteristics of the eye chart brief consisted of repetition/ hierarchy of imagery/legibility involving distances. I produced a pattern design that uses these same characteristics to give a modernised and more appealling eye chart feel where detail can be seen up close and larger scale overall shapes are seen further away.

I furthered my response by applying the pattern designs to mocked up everyday objects. Particularly textile based mediums. This could also put into practice the legibiltiy aspect of the design corresponding with the use of the original brief.
If I were to progress this further I would have tried some experimental screen printing onto other materials such as nylon based blinds, wood, and brissle welcome mats.

Significant development showing both the variety of imagery (bottom right) that could have been used in the investigation of the appropriateness, relevance and relation to the orginal brief. It shows my struggle with keeping to the brief and keep intouch with the original characteristcs I needed to follow (top right). Hense the image I chose (above) shows a both a hierarchy of scale and repetition but hopefully in a more inventive way than the original criteria.
