prepress, classifi eds & pagination - Metro news/toronto starMetro News Canada, Toronto, June 2015 - October 2017• responsibilities included day-to-day work in the Prepress and Production department

of the Toronto Star, layout of Classifi eds and Vitals (obituaries) in PPI, releasing of live and preprint pages, New York Times broadsheet and book review tabloid and special executions that includes Gatefolds and Mass Impact pages. Released daily ad stacks, released ads in Newsgate Citrix. Check Job Assist of Transcontinental for last check of page typesets. Check and upload materials to printers as requested by staff. Resolved ad material problems on daily basis, and with these resolution deadlines are always met.

Implemented missing ad material list or heads-up, early submission, follow-up of ad materials that resulted in early prepping and releasing of pages. This resulted in being adopted by the whole team and lessened bottlenecks experienced during the fi rst half of the day.

markets. Involved in daily meetings with managing and feature editors, recommended feature and front cover photos. Liaise with Toronto Star for photo permissions.
