What is Paw Pals? Animal Care Academy

Who is eligible? 

Paw Pals Animal Academy is a FREE

educational program for area youth

interested in animal welfare.

This special summer academy is

designed to teach children about

proper care for animals and many of

the career opportunities in the animal

f ield. This is a four-week program,

with academy participants meeting for

90 minutes 12:00 pm—1:30 pm each

Saturday during June.

Any  Burleson area student who is

entering the sixth grade in the  2017-

2018 school year who either resides or

attends school in the City of Burleson.

The  Paw Pals Animal Academy will be

l imited to 20 participants to ensure

that everyone gets personal attention.

Burleson Animal Services wil l

determine which applicants wil l be

chosen for the course and those

students wil l be notif ied by May 12,

2017.

How do I apply?Complete the attached application (with

essay requirement) and return it to

Burleson Animal Services By April 21 ,

2017. The application must be signed by

the applicant 's parent/guardian.

Applicants are encouraged to include

recommendations with their

application. All applications must

include an essay.

DFW Funny Business wil l provide

20 farm animals for participants to

handle and learn about the different

animals .

Wildlife on the Move wil l provide

snakes, turtles and cool , cold-

blooded critters .

Week 4: June 24, Graduation Day

Anna See wil l be talking about

health care, vaccines and have

hands-on activities for the students

such as   l istening to animal 's heart

beats , lungs etc .  

Students wil l get certif icates and

goody bags. Parents are asked to

stay on this day. Students wil l have

their photos taken, snacks wil l be

served and an overview of the class

wil l be presented.
