Series 67 Features
The Series 67® Severe Service Crossover Valve takes a leading role in the valve industry. The scope of applications in the various global markets is enormous because of it’s quarter-turn construction, ease of operation, and nearly zero maintenance. Moreover, Crossover Valves are ideal for conditions which require valves that occupy less space, weigh less and provide a Class VI shutoff. Besides these advantages, all Series 67® valves are fire-safe and have Low-E, zero emissions packing that exceeds EPA 2020 emissions standards. Finally, the Series 67® brand ensures reliability and an excellent price-to-quality ratio.

DESIGN FEATURES 1-2
• The unique Loaded Seal® - Is a break-through in seat-sealing design. It seals with compression on the ID conical surface and OD conical surface without using gaskets. Unlike a convectional ID or OD seat with front or back sealing, the Loaded Seal® ID surface angle is offset from the OD surface angle, with more compression, more sealing occurs. Their opposing angles, acting as a Belleville spring, keep constant compression force to compensate for thermal cycling, seat wear and media pulsations. The seal ring is not compressed when the disc is in the open position, giving the seat a prolonged lifespan.
• The Seal Retainer - Is designed to hold the seat-seal ring at a preset position, not under a preset force, with Quarter-Loks and setscrews to hold the lock-ring po-sition between the body groove and the cover groove. The cover ring has a wedge against the wedge surface of the body groove (Dual Wedge Technology®). As the Quarter-Loks rotate, pushing the lock against the seal; the set screws further push the lock ring. The redundant locking system will withstand high vibrations, thermal shock, and even rapid thermal cycling. The self-retaining set screws are extremely user-friendly when servicing the valve, maintaining constant even torque and in conjunction with the Quarter-Loks, it is the most reliable seat-sealing system on the valve market.

DESIGN FEATURES 1-3
• Dual Wedge Technology® – Designed for high speed and thermal cycling applications. The Dual Wedge Joint® is a standard feature that eliminates concentrated stress forces on the rotary stem. By separating the bending force from driving force and equally distributing the driving force with the Dual Wedge Joint®, the bending stress and hub size are greatly reduced, improving the fluid flow rate. The center of the disc has the strongest cross- section. With our double-sided wedge joint, we transfer the driving force from the shaft to the disc. Not only does this force secure the joint without weakening the shaft, but it also allows for the decrease of the overall cross- sectional area of the disc and hub of the valve.
• Streamlined Disc - By reducing the overall cross-sectional area and hub size of Series 67, we reduce our pressure drop by 15% or more and contour our disc to produce a more laminar flow.
• Freedom of Thermal Expansion - Restricting a shaft from axial expansion causes extensive seat leakage under thermal change between 60°F to 1200°F. If the shaft is secured by pins, it elimi-nates axial freedom. With the Series 67 Dual Wedge Joint, the shaft will freely expand axially without damage to the seat or seal ring.
• Wedge Retainment - Since the wedges are the same material as the disc, they will not lose engagement with the disc even under high vibration or thermal expansion.
Patent Dual Wedge Joint The hub areas account for 90% of all failures during full closing or opening and under water hamper conditions.

Liquid seal under high or low temperatures, zero emissions standard
Buckling Pin: for fast operation and high impact
PDC-axial bearing teeth with liquid seal
Buckling Groove

Spring pins within our bearing to accept large axial movement and thermal change
DESIGN FEATURES 1-4
• Bushing and Buckle Pin - Both dynamic devices deal with thermal cycling, and dynamic forces from fast-acting and overall rapid cycling.
• PDC Axial Bearing - Combines a custom thrust bearing, newly patented sealing mechanism and an added liquid seal as one component. Bearing teeth act as a layered liquid sealing mechanism and added shaft support at high temperatures. The grooves are filled with grease to provide sealing and lubrication to both the shaft and bushings. The spring pins support the shaft under both high and low temperatures, during periods of thermal expansion and impact force due to shaft side loading from dynamic forces on the disc.
• Liquid Seal - Injected in the bearing teeth and between the bushings as an added shaft seal and lubricant.
• Buckling Pin - Designed to absorb the impact of the disc in applications such as coking, sour gas and liquor isolation and control where the valve is rapidly closed or used to cut solid particle buildup on its metal seat. Buckling conditions occur way below yield strength, our buckling pin would not be damaged. It is designed to store 35% of the impact energy and greatly increase the seat longevity and bushing life.

DESIGN FEATURES 1-5
• Smart Packing FDS-622 – Our solution for EPA-2020 fugitive emissions require-ments for both on-off and throttling applications under 100 PPM. API 622 is an on-off packing specification; API does not have a throttling specification currently. Our FDS-622 packing exceeds this requirement.
• Eccentric Quarter-Lok® Plugs - Designed to replace conventional packing gland bolts, which generate uncontrolled compression on the packing. Quarter-Loks® are located between the highest and lowest point in the plug for optimized compression. Once compression reaches the lowest point (rotated 180°), the packing needs to be replaced.
• Causes of Packing Failure - Dynamic enlargement, wearing from extensive cycling, corrosion and foreign object inclusion.
• Smart Packing (FDS-622) includes: (1) Spring bearing to eliminate or reduce
dynamic enlargement, due to the engineered clearance between shaft and bearing.
(2) A packing ring set, which includes internal packing rings, metal wedge rings, and external packing rings. The metal wedge rings generate inward and outward force to compensate wearing of the internal and external rings.
(3) To prevent galvanic corrosion, the metal support ring can be replaced with a zinc ring to protect the shaft.
(4) The metal support rings prevent foreign objects from getting into the packing rings.

• The Packing-less Stem Seal - This optional assembly is designed to seal the rotary stem at high temperatures 850°F up to 1800°F. When air is heated to 850°F and above, the graphite will suffer oxidation, becoming ash. Packing-less seal assemblies are all metal. The rotary shaft has a conical or spherical shoulder with a pair of wedge rings installed on top and bottom of the shoulder with top and bottom plates to support the top and bottoms of the wedge rings.
• The Stem Seal Assembly - Converts the dynamic seal between the stem shoulder and wedge rings into a static seal. The static seal between the wedge rings and top and bottom plates changes to a dynamic seal. The cavity of the stem assembly is filled with spe-cial high-temperature liquid to provide a liquid seal and lubricating properties while rotating.

The lugged body as a main body
DESIGN FEATURES 1-8
• The Unique 3-pc. Universal Body: Has a base lugged body and can be used alone or combined with our Universal 3-pc. body adapters. PDC also offers a special butt weld adapter, allowing the valves to be repaired without interfering with the weld connections. Our Universal 3-pc. body can adapt to any face-to-face configuration.
• New Allite® Pressure-Assisted Gasket – Series 67® 3-pc. body employs a newly patented high-pressure alloy gasket capable of handling temperatures over 1800°F. The new Allite® gasket seal is formed between body flanges during installation and attaches to both flanges with a wedge joint and PDC’s special “W” seal. Even with high-temperature changes or pressure surges, the flanges maintain their seal. The Allite® gaskets are not reusable. The huge advantage of the new Allite® gasket is the ability to repair valves in-line and replace butt welded valves in any pressure class regardless of their take out.
• Cavfree® Trim - The Cavfree® trim limits cavitation conditions and erosion by efficiently optimizing flow. When the valve disc is positioned between 10°-60° the incoming flow is divided, each stream is conditioned by the right and left trim piece. The flow capacity is merely reduced by 30%.
• Catalytic Trim - Optional patented trim for service in high temperature exhaust applications to reduce “NOX from” used flare applications.
