LITTLE YORK

SINGING RIDGE

Unit 1 was traveling south on Singing Ridge Boulevard in the

left turn only lane, and after having made the required

safety stop at Little York Road, proceeded into the

intersection to turn left, and in doing so, Unit 1 failed to

yield the right of way and collided with Unit 2, which was

traveling west on Little York Road in the westbound lane of

travel.

On Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 1108 hours, I was dispatched, along with Officer Ashworth, to an

injury crash at Little York Road and Singing Hills Boulevard.

Upon my arrival, I found 2 vehicles with heavy damage, and I made contact with the driver of Unit 2,

who was Kelli R. Hunter. Mrs. Hunter advised that she was traveling westbound on Little York Road and

that Unit 1 pulled out in front of her from Singing Ridge Boulevard. She said she did not have time to

stop. Mrs. Hunter provided me with her information, and I advised I would have a medic get to her

shortly, as she was complaining of chest pain.

I then made contact with the driver of Unit 1, who was Blake M. Warner, and he was trapped inside the

vehicle and BTFD was working on her. I spoke with Ms. Warner's sister, Tatum Warner, who was a

passenger in the vehicle and had been able to get out. I also spoke with their mother, who was on

scene and had witnessed the crash. They both advised that they were on their way to Cracker Barrel and

that Blake was struck, when she pulled out to turn left onto Little York Road. Mrs. Hunter, Blake and

Tatum were all transported to the hospital via medic.

I collected information from the involved parties, including Stephan King, whose yard was torn up as a

result of the crash. After the vehicles struck, they both ended up in his yard at 3924 Little York

Road. Officer Ashworth took photographs of the scene.

I completed a citation for Blake for failure to yield after stopping at the stop sign. I made contact

with Blake at Grandview Medical Center. A nurse was in the room while I explained the citation to

Blake.

Blake was conscious, awake and aware of what was going on. She stated she thought she had a broken arm

but that appeared to be her most serious injury. Blake held the citation while I explained it to her,

and she asked me to place it in the bag that contained her clothing, which I did. I asked Blake if she

had any questions for me, and she stated, "Not at this time."

I then went to check on Tatum, who said she was doing okay but that her neck hurt. Her mother was in

the room with her and thanked me for being there for them and for checking on them. I advised her that

I had served Blake with a citation for failure to yield, and she stated that she understood. She then

hugged me and thanked me again before leaving.
