•Location Settings: Turn on GPS or location settings for both the camera and application
•Cellular data vs wifi only capable devices
Installation
• iOS – Search for Avenza PDF Maps and install
•Android – Search in Google Play
KNOWN ISSUES FOR ANDROID DEVICES:• Device must have Android 4.0 or higher• Device must have 1 GB RAM or higher• Use GeoTIFF when having problems with PDF documents
Finding Maps• Avenza map store for download of free and paid maps. Maps load directly into the application map list.
•Download from email or Dropbox•Google Sites: used by many incidents

Open Map
Button Overview•Toolbar at bottom of map
• Centers map on current location
• Create placemark
• Coordinate display

• Tools:
Create Data•Add placemark – places in center of map.
•As you move and continue to add placemarks, you can see the path traveled
Create Data cont.•Move placemarks by clicking and dragging
•Add attributes
Plot Photos• In the Tools menu select - Plot photos to make placemarks at each photo location
Measuring
•Measure lines or area
Select unit
Click plus to add
vertices
Save will add the feature
to the lines folder
Done will remove
the feature
Export Data
Situation Unit
•The earlier the SIT Unit gets the data the greater the chance the data gets on the map.
