The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple was founded in 2003 and is an integral part of the Mount Madonna Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences. The Temple and Hanuman are cared for by members of our community, and under the guidance of Master Yogi Baba Hari Dass our resident pujaris perform the ancient ritual of Arati each day at sunrise and sunset. The Mount Madonna Center was founded in 1978. Inspired by Baba Hari Dass, the community provides an environment for the personal and spiritual growth of our guests and nearly 100 residents. The Center offers a wide range of classes on the many disciplines of Yoga including Jnana, Bhakti and Karma Yoga and also presents programs and workshops – both spiritual and secular – to promote health and well-being. Rooted in the values of life-long learning, our educational programs serve all age groups. The Mount Madonna School is a CAIS/WASC Accredited K-12 program, offering pre-collegiate curriculum and a unique and meaningful educational experience. The Mount Madonna Institute offers state approved diplomas, certificates and Master of Arts degrees in the healing arts and sciences. We welcome you to our Temple and hope you enjoy your visit. The Temple area is still under construction and will expand to include accommodations to make your visit more comfortable. Currently, restrooms are available in the Community Building foyer. All other facilities are available to registered guests and Mount Madonna Center residents only.
