Chickens can be trained like other birds. Pet chickens are friendly.
Miss Dee• I was born on the Farm.• My mom gave birth naturally.• My mother has been a vegetarian since she
was 16 years old.• She was a vegan (no animal products) when
she was pregnant and until I was about six years old.
• I have been vegan/vegetarian my whole life.• I am kind to animals, and I have a lot of pets.

What do vegetarians eat?• 100% vegetarian = vegan = no animal products• Some eat dairy and/or eggs.• I eat dairy (milk, cheese, yoghurt), but I don’t
like to because it is cruel to cows. Dairy cows are killed and eaten after six years and their male calves are killed and eaten. In the USA, I am vegan.
• My mom eats eggs from her pet hens, but it doesn’t hurt the chickens to eat eggs.
• She doesn’t eat eggs if they are fertilized (chick inside).
Breakfast items at my house*We only have a few each day.
• Adults have coffee.• Juice or tea• Toast, muffins, bagels, or banana bread• Cereal (corn, rice or wheat-based), granola,
oatmeal, cream of wheat• Pancakes or waffles• Yoghurt (soy if possible)• Vegetarian sausages or bacon, fried tofu• Eggs (omelettes or scrambled)• Fruit• Smoothie (fruit and soy or yoghurt shake)

be vegan), Mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, green beans, sweet potatoes, greens (collard, spinach or mustard), field peas, corn, squash
• Pasta: Spaghetti with tomato sauce, vegetables and cheese or Vegetable lasagna
• Vegetarian Mexican, Chinese food• Bread: Garlic bread, rolls• Rice: Italian, American or Asian style
Meals for USA Study Trip• Mostly vegetarian• Airline food includes meat.• Meals at the Farm School are vegetarian.• Meals at Miss Dee’s farm are vegetarian.• Barbeques with neighbours and at David
Crockett State Park include meat.• Brunch at Soda Pop Junction includes meat.• A few fast-food lunches/dinners will include
meat.• The food will be healthy and plentiful.
