The Firs“When we first bought The Firs we knew we were embarking on a renovation project that would be incredibly worthwhile. The property was in a superb location. We worked tirelessly to bring the house back to its former glory and exposed the original Bath stone to create a wonderful four bedroom property. We are lucky enough to have stunning countryside views too despite being only a 20 minute drive from Bath city centre,” says Andrew.

“We have lived at the house for 14 years and have very fond memories of our time here. The 30 sq.ft. kitchen/diner is our favourite room and open directly onto a large patio area. It is great for summer entertaining and perfect for us as we love having guests. We regularly host barbeques in the summer and dinner parties in the winter months.”

“We adore living here and the views are exceptional. We have a family of three deer who regularly come into the garden. The property overlooks a wooded valley and The Blackdown Hills. The sunsets are superb of an evening. The majority of the rooms benefit from these wonderful views which adapt to each season,” says Andrew.

“The garden is large and mostly laid to lawn. The patio area leads from the kitchen onto the lawn and is where we spend the majority of our time in the summer. The garden is a sun trap and we have our own vegetable garden, orchard and hens. It is ideal for kids with plenty of space for ball games water slides and sledging. There is also a paddock which has the potential to be a lovely home for ponies if the new owners require such facilities.”

“The local village has plenty of services for your everyday needs. There is a post office, butchers, small Tesco’s and a bakery. The cricket, croquet and football club in the village are just a field away. There is a bus stop at the end of the lane with a regular service every 20 minutes, which allows the children to be independent as they grow up. The route takes you directly into Bath which is a thriving historical city with plenty of charm, character and excellent restaurants. Babington House is also located nearby. For those with children, there are plenty of excellent schools available nearby. Peasedown St John has a primary school in the village and secondary and private schools can be found in Bath.”
