Milieu is a boutique property development company dedicated to creating spaces of influence, inside and out. Inspired by Melbourne’s physical and social settings, each project is an attempt to reflect the unique personality of the city. Based in Collingwood ourselves, we focus on creating homes for those who wish to live in Melbourne’s thriving north, as well as invest in it. Peel by Milieu is the next step in this journey – a journey that has combined layer upon layer of considered thinking to curate the ideas of a diverse range of local collaborators.

Boutique in scale, Peel employs a contemporary approach to living that delivers timeless elegance. Melbourne architects, DKO, have created a strong, unique aesthetic that both complements and contributes to the urban fabric – articulating a single form through racking angles, a white brick aesthetic and metal-hooded windows. With a focus on the most liveable use of spaces, the building has been oriented to the north to provide this aspect to the apartments. Inside, Collingwood’s DesignOffice have crafted clean, simple interiors with their signature bespoke design philosophy. The attention to detail is obvious but understated – the finishing, resolution and consideration of the space has been carefully nurtured. The end result is a well-resolved and well-considered space, inside and out.

Location Collingwood and the nearby area serves as one of the city’s most vibrant and creative pockets. The coffee and food culture is quintessentially Melbourne and the high-activity areas of Gertrude and Smith streets are just a short stroll away. Situated at the top end of Collingwood, nearest the CBD and Melbourne’s sports precinct, your daily errands may require no more than a short walk but you will still find yourself connected to trams, buses, Flexicar pods as well as cycle lanes into the CBD and walking paths on your doorstep.

Fixtures and fittings – Resource saving technology, low energy lighting and water efficient fixtures are designed to increase efficiency and lower costs.

Rainwater – Rainwater collection is redirected for use in common areas and the café.

Central hot water – A central gas hot water system minimises energy use and costs.

Thermal – The use of performance glass as well as a concrete structure and façade helps minimise heating and cooling costs.

Solar electricity – With solar electricity in all common areas, body corporate costs stay low.

As well as quality design, durable materials and carefully chosen artwork, the familiar design cues throughout the interiors give a sense of arriving home before you’ve even stepped into your apartment.

Adapt your kitchen to your lifestyle with concealed cooking areas for breakfast and mid-week meals. When the cooking area is revealed you’ll be treated to stainless steel surfaces, condiment shelves and utensil rails as well as a fold-out pantry for everything you need while cooking – and a clean, minimal space when you’re not.

Sliding doors between the bedrooms and living areas allow for the extension of the living area, transforming spaces for use as media rooms, snugs, studies or second bedrooms.
