This weeks joke is from Greta Landaus
Kia Ora Fantastic feedback about our choir performance at the interschools music festival last night. Well done to our choir members and Mrs Cowie who supported our choir to become so good. Thanks to the parents who made sure their children could attend. Absences notes This week we sent notices home if your child had 20% or more time off during the
term. Many of the absences were for genuine reasons and I apologise if the notices came as a surprise or offended you. If the absences are for a genuine reason, and are usually a medical event we never follow up but if the absences are an odd day here and there then it becomes a bit of a concern. Over a year an absence of 20 % means 40 days or 8 weeks of school. Thank you for your support in having your children at school, on time and ready to learn. Next term. I will be away from school next term on a sabbatical study. While I am away Ms. Smyth will be acting Principal. Remember if you have any concerns or complaints follow our procedure. This is as follows. Step 1 talk with the teacher. Step 2 discuss it with management (Principal). If your concerns haven’t been addressed then contact the Board of Trustees. In the first instance any communication with the Board will have them check the process has been followed. We have found that if concerns are addressed early they don’t escalate to become a major problem. Illnesses There have been a lot of illnesses at school over the last two weeks. We are hoping that the term break will give everyone a chance to get well and stop passing the bugs/viruses onto other people. Remember if you child is unwell they should stay home and if they have cold flu symptoms they should see a doctor. Your support in letting the school know early each day is appreciated. We are now asking that if the absence is for more than 2 days a medical certificate is supplied. Reports These went home Wednesday. Please check bags. Contact us if you didn’t get the report. If you have any queries arising from the report please contact the classroom teacher. Have a great term break Regards Brent and staff
