Narmada

It arises from the Amarkantak hills.

It is the 5th longest river in the Indian subcontinent

It is also known as "Life Line of Madhya Pradesh“.

Narmada is older than the Ganges

Teak and India's best hardwood forests are found in the Narmada River basin.

The ecoregion is home to 76 species of mammals and to 276 bird species.

The sprawling caves of Bhimbetka are located on the banks of this river.

In Indian history, Kannada emperor from Chalukya dynasty Pulakeshin II is said to have defeated emperor Harshavardhana of Kannauj on the banks of Narmada.

TapiIt rises from the Satpura Ranges (Betul district).

The tributaries are Purna River, Girna River, Panzara River, Waghur River, Bori River and Aner River.

It flows towards west and it has a course of 724 km.

Godavari

1.The Godavari also known as Dakshin Ganga is the second largest river in India after the river Ganges.

2.It starts in Maharashtra and flows for 1.456 km into the Bay of Bengal via the states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

4.Major tributaries of Godavari are Pravara, Indravati, Manjira river, Bindusara river and Sabri river.

RIVER KRISHNAThe Krishna River , the third longest river in central−southern India,is almost 1,400 km long.

There are four rivers that join the Krishna at a confluence known as Preeti Sangam, or "Lover's Meeting Point" in the Satara District. These are Venna river, Urmodi River, Tarli River and Koyna river.

It drains Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh. The largest tributary of the Krishna River is the Tungabhadra, but the longest tributary is the Bhima.

RIVER KRISHNA

Krishna Basin extends over an area of 258,948 square kilometres (99,980 sq. mi) which is nearly 8% of the total geographical area of the country. This large basin lies in the states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Krishna river rises in the Western Ghats, at an elevation of about 1337 m just north of Mahabaleshwar, about 64 km from the Arabian Sea. It flows for about 1400 km and outfalls into the Bay of Bengal

Kaveri

The Kaveri rises in the Brahmagiri range of the western Ghats and it reaches the Bay of Bengal in south of Cuddalore , in Tamil Nadu .

Total length of the river is 760 km .Its main Tributaries are Amravati, Bhavani, Hemavati, and Kabini . Its basin drains parts of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil nadu

Mahanadi

The Mahanadi  is a major river in East Central India. It drains

an area of around 141,600 square km and has a total

course of 858 km (533 mi). The river flows through the states of Chhattisgarh and Orissa.

Mahanadi’s drainage basin is shared by Maharashtra,

Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa
