On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses

I offer myself, soul and body, to You, Eternal Spirit of God.

I adore the brightness of Your purity,

the unerring keenness of Your justice

and the might of Your love.

———

You are the Strength and Light of my soul.

In You I live and move and am.

I desire never to grieve You by unfaithfulness to grace

and I pray with all my heart

to be kept from the smallest sin against You.

———

Mercifully guard my every thought

and grant that I may always watch for Your light

and listen to Your voice

and follow Your gracious inspirations.

I cling to You and give myself to You

and ask You by Your compassion to watch over me in my weakness.

Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus

and looking at His Five Wounds

and trusting in His Precious Blood

and adoring his opened Side and stricken Heart,

I implore You, Adorable Spirit, Helper of my infirmity,

so to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You.

Give me grace, O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son

to say to You always and everywhere,

"Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening."

y el poder de tu amor.

that we may be filled with a loving reverence toward You.

the Spirit of Piety

that we may find peace and fulfillment in the service of God while serving others;

the Spirit of Fortitude

that we may bear our cross with You and, with courage,

overcome the obstacles that interfere with our salvation;

the Spirit of Knowledge

that we may know You and know ourselves and grow in holiness;

the Spirit of Understanding

to enlighten our minds with the light of Your truth;

Oh, Señor Jesucristo, que antes de ascender al cielo

prometiste enviar al Espíritu Santo para completar tu obra

en las almas de tus Apóstoles y discípulos,

dígnate concederme el mismo Espíritu Santo

para que Él perfeccione en mi alma la obra de tu gracia y de tu amor.

Concédeme el Espíritu de Temor de Dios

para que pueda ser lleno de reverencia amorosa hacia Dios;

el Espíritu de Piedad

para que pueda encontrar el servicio a Dios dulce y amable;

el Espíritu de Fortaleza

para que pueda llevar mi cruz contigo y sobrellevar con coraje

I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart

of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you so

that you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep them. You will live in

the land I gave to your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. I will

put my spirit in you that you may come to life, and I will settle you in your land. Then

you shall know that I am the LORD. I have spoken; I will do it, says the LORD.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Holy Fear, fill us with devotion to God alone.

In the Risen Christ, we welcome You, O Spirit of truth,

whom the Father sends in Jesus' name.

Wash clean the sinful soul, and rain down your grace

that we may be one with the Church in fidelity to our Lord Jesus, Christ.

sepulcros y los saque de ellos, pueblo mío, ustedes dieran que yo soy el Señor.

Entonces le infundiré mi espíritu, los estableceré en su tierra y sabrán que yo, el Señor,

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu del Santo Temor, llénanos de devoción solo a Dios.

En Cristo resucitado, te damos la bienvenida, oh Espíritu de verdad,

a quien el Padre envía en el nombre de Jesús.

Lava el alma corrompida y derrama tu gracia para que seamos uno con la Iglesia

Scripture Acts 19:1-7

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior of the country and

came to Ephesus where he found some disciples. Paul said to them, “Did you receive

the holy Spirit when you became believers?” They answered him, “We have never even

heard that there is a holy Spirit.” He said, “How were you baptized?” They replied,

“With the baptism of John.” Paul then said, “John baptized with a baptism of

repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is,

in Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul laid [his] hands on them, the holy Spirit came upon them, and they

spoke in tongues and prophesied. Altogether there were about twelve men.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart.

God, our Father, may I, through the grace of your Spirit,

be forever filled with filial affection for you.

Grant that I may be inspired

to love and respect all members of your family

as brothers and sisters of Jesus, who, together with him, call you Abba, Father.

TERCER DÍA

Escritura Hechos 19, 1-7

En aquellos días, mientras Apolo estaba en Corinto, Pablo atravesó las regiones altas de Galacia y Frigia y bajo a Efeso. Encontró allí a unos discípulos y les pregunto: “¿Han recibido el Espíritu Santo, cuando abrazaron la fe?” Ellos respondieron: “Ni siquiera hemos oído decir que exista el Espíritu Santo”. Pablo replico” “Entonces, ¿qué bautismo han recibido?” Ellos respondieron: “El bautismo de Juan”. Pablo les dijo: “Juan bautizo con un bautismo de arrepentimiento, pero advirtiendo al pueblo que debían creer en aquel que vendría después de él, esto es, en Jesús”. Al oír esto, los discípulos fueron bautizados en el nombre del Señor Jesús, y cuando Pablo les impuso las manos, descendió el Espíritu Santo y comenzaron a hablar lenguas desconocidas y a profetizar. Eran en total unos doce hombres.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Piedad, posee mi corazón.

Dios, nuestro Padre, deja que yo, por la gracia de tu Espíritu,

este siempre lleno de afecto filial por ti.

Concédeme estar inspirado a

amar y respetar a todos los miembros de tu familia

como hermanos y hermanas de Jesús,

Scripture Acts 7:55-60

Stephen, filled with the holy Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of

God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and he said, “Behold, I see the

heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried

out in a loud voice, covered their ears, and rushed upon him together. They threw him

out of the city, and began to stone him. The witnesses laid down their cloaks at the feet

of a young man named Saul. As they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus,

receive my spirit.” Then he fell to his knees and cried out in a loud voice, “Lord, do not

hold this sin against them”; and when he said this, he fell asleep.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Fortitude,

uphold my soul in time of trouble and adversity.

O, Divine Trinity, grant that we may be strengthened

to see in ourselves and each other

the dignity that is ours as temples of Your Holy Spirit,

to be loved by one another as each of us is loved by Jesus.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

CUARTO DÍA

Escritura Hechos 7, 55-60

Esteban, lleno del Espíritu Santo, miro al cielo, vio la gloria de Dios y a Jesús, que estaba

de pie a la derecha de Dios, y dijo: “Estoy viendo los cielos abiertos y al Hijo del hombre

de pie a la derecha de Dios”. Entonces los miembros del sanedrín gritaron con fuerza,

se taparon los oídos y todos a una se precipitaron sobre el. Lo sacaron fuera de la

ciudad y empezaron a apedrearlo. Los falsos testigos depositaron sus mantos a los pies

de un joven, llamado Saulo. Mientras lo apedreaban, Esteban repetía esta oración:

“Señor Jesús, recibe me espíritu”. Después se puso de rodillas y dijo con fuerte voz:

“Señor, no les tomes en cuenta este pecado”. Diciendo esto, se durmió en el Señor.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Fortaleza,

protege mi alma en tiempos de problemas y adversidades.

Oh, Divina Trinidad, concédenos que seamos fortalecidos

para ver en nosotros mismos y en los demás

la dignidad que es nuestra como templos de tu Espíritu Santo,

ser amados unos por otros como cada uno de nosotros es amado por Jesús.

Te lo pedimos por Cristo, nuestro Señor.

FIFTH DAY


Invocation





Scripture 1 Cor 12:4-11

Brothers and sisters, there are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there

are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the

same God who produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the manifestation

of the Spirit is given for some benefit. To one is given through the Spirit the expression

of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to

another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit; to another

mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another

varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit

produces all of these, distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Knowledge,

and grant that we may perceive the will of the Father.

Father, through Your Spirit, You invite us to participate in the fullness of Creation.

Help us to see that all gifts are from You and intended for your Glory.

For there are many different gifts, but always the same Spirit,

many ways of serving, but always the same Lord.

Amen.

QUINTO DÍA

Escritura 1 Cor 12, 4-11

Hermanos: Hay diferentes dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo. Hay diferentes servicios,

pero el Señor es el mismo. Hay diferentes actividades, pero Dios, que hace todo en

todos, es el mismo. En cada uno se manifiesta el Espíritu para el bien común. Uno

recibe el don de la sabiduría; otro, el don de la ciencia. A uno se le concede el don de la

fe; a otro, la gracia de hacer curaciones, y a otro más, poderes milagrosos. Uno recibe

el don de profecía, y otro, el de discernir los espíritus. A uno se le concede el don de

lenguas, y a otro, el de interpretarlas. Pero es uno solo y el mismo Espíritu el que hace

todo eso, distribuyendo a cada uno sus dones, según su voluntad.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Conocimiento,

y concede que podamos percibir la voluntad del Padre.

Padre, a través de tu Espíritu,

Nos invitas a participar en la plenitud de la Creación.

Ayúdanos a ver que todos los regalos de ti y están destinados a tu Gloria.

Porque hay muchos dones diferentes, pero siempre el mismo Espíritu,

muchas formas de servir, pero siempre el mismo Señor.

SIXTH DAY


Invocation





Scripture Rom 8:22-27

We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that,

but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves

as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. For in hope we were saved.

Now hope that sees for itself is not hope. For who hopes for what one sees? But if we

hope for what we do not see, we wait with endurance. In the same way, the Spirit too

comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but

the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches

hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones

according to God’s will.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Understanding,

enlighten our minds so that we may appreciate

and see more fully what we know by faith.

Come to us in our weakness and give voice to our petitions,

for "the prayers that the Spirit makes for God's holy people

are always in accordance with the mind of God."

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

SEXTO DÍA


Invocación





Escritura Rom 8, 22-27

Hermanos: Sabemos que la creación entera gime hasta el presente y sufre dolores de parto; y no solo ella, sino también nosotros, los que poseemos la primicias del Espíritu, gemimos interiormente, anhelando que se realice plenamente nuestra condición de hijos de dios, la redención de nuestro cuerpo. Porque ya es nuestra la salvación, pero su plenitud es todavía objeto de esperanza. Esperar lo que ya se posee no es tener esperanza, porque, ¿Cómo se puede esperar lo que ya se posee? En cambio, si esperamos algo que todavía no poseemos, tenemos que esperarlo con paciencia. El Espíritu nos ayuda en nuestra debilidad, porque nosotros no sabemos pedir lo que nos conviene; pero el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros con gemidos que no pueden expresarse con palabras. Y Dios, que conoce profundamente los corazones, sabe lo que el Espíritu quiere decir, porque el Espíritu ruega conforme a la voluntad de Dios, por los que le pertenecen.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Entendimiento,

ilumina nuestras mentes para que podamos apreciar

y ver más completamente lo que sabemos por fe.

Ven a nosotros en nuestra debilidad y da voz a nuestras peticiones,

por "las oraciones que el Espíritu hace para que el pueblo santo de Dios

este siempre de acuerdo con la mente de Dios".

Te lo pedimos por Cristo nuestro Señor.

Invocation





Scripture Is 61:1-3

The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me;

He has sent me to bring good news to the afflicted,

to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,

release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the LORD

and a day of vindication by our God;

To comfort all who mourn;

to place on those who mourn in Zion a diadem instead of ashes,

To give them oil of gladness instead of mourning,

a glorious mantle instead of a faint spirit.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Counsel.

Make our thoughts holy, our love pure,

and our works pleasing to God.

Father, guided by Your Spirit,

may we strive to make loving choices and respect all life.

May we be aware of our dignity as Your sons and daughters,

redeemed with the Blood of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

Escritura Is 61, 1-3

El espíritu del Señor está sobre mi,

porque me ha ungido y me ha enviado para anunciar la buena nueva a los pobres,

a curar a los de corazón quebrantado,

a proclamar el perdón a los cautivos, y la libertad a los prisioneros;

a pregonar el ano de gracia del Señor, el día de la venganza de nuestro Dios.

El Señor me ha enviado a consolar a los afligidos,

los afligidos de Sion, a cambiar su ceniza en diadema,

sus lagrimas en aceite perfumado de alegría

y su abatimiento, en canticos.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Consejo.

Haz santos nuestros pensamientos, nuestro amor puro,

y nuestras obras agradables a Dios.

Padre, guiados por tu Espíritu,

podemos esforzarnos en tomar decisiones amorosas y respetar toda la vida.

Que seamos conscientes de nuestra dignidad como hijos e hijas,

EIGHTH DAY


Invocation






Brothers and sisters, as it is written:

“What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the

human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,”

this God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit scrutinizes everything,

even the depths of God. Among human beings, who knows what pertains to a person

except the spirit of the person that is within? Similarly, no one knows what pertains to

God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit

that is from God, so that we may understand the things freely given us by God.

Prayer

Come, O Blessed Spirit of Wisdom,

strengthen our faith, increase our hope, perfect our charity.

Father, enlighten us each day, in the silence of our hearts,

to discern the voice of Your Spirit, to do what He asks of us

and to understand the gifts He freely gives us.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

OCTAVO DÍA


Invocación






Hermanos, como dice la Escritura, “que lo que Dios has preparado para los que lo aman, ni el ojo lo ha visto, ni el oído lo ha escuchado, ni la mente del hombre pudo siquiera haberlo imaginado”. A nosotros, en cambio, Dios nos lo ha revelado por el Espíritu, que conoce perfectamente todo, hasta lo más profundo de Dios. En efecto: ¿quién conoce lo que hay en el hombre, sino el espíritu del hombre que esta dentro de él? Del mismo modo, nadie conoce lo que hay en Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios. Nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que procede de Dios, para que conozcamos las gracias que Dios nos ha otorgado.

Oración

Ven, Oh Bendito Espíritu de Sabiduría,

fortalece nuestra fe, aumenta nuestra esperanza, perfecciona nuestra caridad.

Padre, ilumínanos cada día, en el silencio de nuestros corazones,

para discernir la voz de tu Espíritu, para hacer lo que nos pides

y entender los dones que nos das libremente.

NINTH DAY


Invocation






If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or

a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and

all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am

nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast

but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love]

is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is

not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing

but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,

endures all things. Love never fails.

Prayer

Come, O Divine Spirit, fill our hearts with Your Heavenly Fruits—

Your charity, joy, peace, and patience,

kindness, goodness, faith, mildness and temperance,

Invocación






Aunque yo hablara las lenguas de los hombres y de los ángeles, si no tengo amor, no soy más que una campana que resuena o unos platillos que aturden. Aunque yo tuviera del don de profecía y penetrara todos los misterios, aunque yo poseyera en grado sublime el don de ciencia y mi fe fuera tan grande como para cambiar de sitio las montanas, si no tengo amor, nada soy. Aunque yo repartiera en limosnas todos mis bienes y aunque me dejara quemar vivo, si no tengo amor, de nada me sirve. El amor es comprensivo, el amor es servicial y no tiene envidia; el amor no es presumido ni se envanece; no es grosero ni egoísta; no se irrita ni guarda rencor; no se alegra con la injusticia, sino que goza con la verdad. El amor disculpa sin límites, confía sin límites, espera sin límites, soporta sin límites. El amor dura por siempre.

Oración

Ven, Oh Espíritu Divino, llena nuestros corazones con tus Frutos Celestiales–

Tu caridad, alegría, paz y paciencia,

compasión, bondad, fe, gentileza y templanza,

para que podamos, por fiel sumisión a tu inspiración,

merezcamos estar unidos eternamente contigo

en el amor del Padre y del Hijo.
