We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of those of us who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen. My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. Carlos Roldan at the Fr. English Food Pantry was grateful for the food and checks we recently delivered from OLM. He told us that the pantry is distributing 1,000 bags of food every day. We were told that normally the pantry helped 7,000 families a month, but it has swelled to 11,000. The reality of that was evident by the line of people stretching around the block waiting to receive a bag of food. As we brought the food into the pantry, it is apparent of the low food supply on the shelves. Thank you and God Bless! My Church is open, it’s open everyday, because my Church is not a building. It is the people who are helping each other and their community. It is the prayers for those who are struggling, medically, financially and emotionally. My Church is never closed, it is just open in every home. PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 31, 2020 Peter Alles Jayden Altieri Ed Bailey Manuela Barrios Msgr. May is the Month of Our Lady, one rich in tradition and a beautiful time of the year to honor our heavenly mother. She cares for all of us every day without fail, interceding for us in even the tiniest matters.

Mary, Consolation of the afflicted, embrace all your children in distress and pray that God will stretch out his all-powerful hand and free us from this terrible pandemic, so that life can serenely resume its normal course. Amen

Pray the Rosary everyday as our Blessed Mother

has asked…and even more if you can!

If you would like to make a donation directly to the food pantry visit, https://ccpaterson.org/donate In the comment section, indicate that the donation is for Father English. God bless all our supporters as we help those who are less fortunate.

Do you know that you were created to carry the Holy Spirit within you? Today is the Feast of Pentecost, and at your Baptism, you received the Holy Spirit, became ONE with Christ and entered into His Holy Kingdom. It was not until sin and worldly desires entered into your heart that you began to lose sight of WHO YOU REALLY ARE and what your mission REALLY IS in the here and now. Each person was sent by God to bring into the world a special gift and charism. Your gift is whatever you are especially good at doing. What gift do you bring? You have been given the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord. (1 Cor. 12:7-11) They will produce the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, which are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Goodness, Gentleness, and Self-Control (Gal. 3:22-23). Make a deep examination of yourself; focus and find the gift where you excel. That is the starting place in pursuing holiness, so begin there, branch out, and radiate your gifts to those around you. In our gospel, Jesus tells you; “Peace be with you, as the Father sends Me, so I send you.” Proclaim Christ by using your gifts and Peace will be yours. Rediscover the REAL YOU before the world took charge of your life. Your soul thirsts for God, and desires Holiness. On Pentecost, we celebrate the birthday of the church, and the give of confession. Call on the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and to enkindle in you the fire of His love. You will then understand your “nothingness” without the Holy Spirit living within you. You will be filled with a profound love for your Creator. You will be a New Creation, yoked to Christ. You will become a living masterpiece exhibiting the Lord’s mercy, forgiveness and compassion. YOUR SOUL WILL BE SET FREE TO FULFILL GOD’S ORIGINAL PLAN FOR YOU, AND BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, YOU ARE MADE BEAUTIFUL.

The Ladies Guild will be selling beautiful note cards with pictures of the OLM Church and Chapel. More information and order forms to follow.

If anyone in the Parish needs help with shopping, travel support, food assistance, etc. during the pandemic, please reach out to any Knight or Grand Knight Ray Duplain at 201-741-4073. Confidentiality will be maintained.

Sadly, yet wisely, RISE Headquarters has decided to cancel this year's mission trip. Families will be contacted. The funds raised this year will be used for our 2021 mission trip.

Living through this unprecedented time, daily we become more and more grateful for the ability to attend church, visit a neighbor, or pick up groceries at the store. Through your continued support we will be able to continue to shelter pregnant women and their babies, and help our former mothers and their children. Your compassion and generosity today will save countless babies’ lives. PLEASE BE AS GENEROUS AS YOU CAN. We continue to work hard to save as many innocent preborn as we possibly can in God’s Holy Name. Please contact Several Sources at 201-818-9033 or email us at www.severalsources.org

The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey’s House Calls for Groceries (HCG) program provides grocery shopping assistance on a weekly or biweekly basis to homebound residents in Morris County. Volunteers visit the client’s home to pick up the shopping list, and payment for the groceries – both of which can be done without direct contact. Then, the volunteer will shop at a local grocery store, and deliver the groceries back to the client’s home. Your safety and the safety of our clients are incredibly important to us.

This is a great opportunity for professionals, retirees and students who are looking for ways to create meaningful relationships with neighbors, especially during such an unprecedented socially distant time of our lives.

For more information, or to find out how you can help, please contact Billie Goon, Senior Development Coordinator, at [email protected].

“May the Lord bring healing to the sick, wisdom to medical professionals, and prudence to our civil leaders, charity toward all and hope to those who are discouraged.”

St. Aloysius Gonzaga Please continue to reference our website www.olmchurch.org for updates and information regarding the virus and OLM Parish.

First Reading: Acts 2:1-11 On the feast of Pentecost, the disciples were gathered together when suddenly tongues of fire rested upon them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak in many tongues; those who heard them were filled with amazement. Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7, 12-13 Paul tells the Corinthians that each possesses different gifts and performs different ministries, but each works for the common good in Christ Jesus.

Gospel: John 20:19-23 Jesus appears to the apostles after his resurrection and bestows upon them the power to forgive sins.
