People Say, If They Knew the Toolsthe Pros Used to Build Their Brands,They Would be More Successful: You
Need the Grease as Well
Knowing the social media and branding tools thepros use is great.
The only thing is, it’s not going to get you veryfar if that’s all your relying on.
In order to use the tools to the best of theirability, we need to add some grease to them.
Not physical grease, I’m talking aboutenthusiasm and personalization grease.
Everything in life needs grease: tires, nuts andbolts, door hinges, and everything else you canimagine.
The same holds true for what you do in yourbranding efforts through your social mediachannels.
You are the grease, yes, you.
Your personalization, your genuine passion, youreffort, and your willingness to help withoutreceiving back anything in return is your grease.
Remember the story of the old man and theteenager that have a contest to see who canchop down a tree faster?
The teenager spends all day continuouslychopping at the tree, while the old man chops atthe tree, stops for an hour, gets a drink, sharpens his axe blade, then goes back tochopping.
Do you understand the story here?
The old man is sharpening and greasing hisblade to actually chop faster.
You need to do the same thing with the toolsyou use in your branding efforts.
Everyone has the same tools available to them,it’s those that grease the tools and use them totheir maximum ability that find ultimatesuccess.
You don’t have to listen to what I’m sharinghere, but I can tell you from personalexperience, when I started adding grease to thetools in my toolbox, things really took off.
One other thing that really helped me turn mybranding around was focusing on less tools andreally working the tools I did use, to theirmaximum ability.
In some cases I find that when I focus on less, Iactually get back more. It sounds crazy, but I’m alittle crazy, so it’s a perfect fit.
My recommendation is that you select a handfulof tools, test them out, and I mean more thanjust logging into the site and doing one thing.
Grease the tools up, learn from them, and see ifthey can work for you in the long run.
What works for one person may not be right foryou, make your own tool recipe, add your owngrease to it, and figure out a way to maximizethe tools to the best of your ability.
This all being said, if you need some suggestionsor help in actually figuring out what tools maywork best for you, please reach out to medirectly via my 90DayEntrepreneur site.
