Don’t use regular body wash in place of shaving cream. Body washes often contain ingredients that are both drying and irritating to the skin. Items you will need: Exfoliating scrub, shaving cream or gel, new razor, moisturizer. 1. Exfoliate the area you’re going to shave with a salt or sugar scrub. By exfoliating, you remove dead skin cells, which helps you get a closer shave and allow your razor to glide more smoothly over the skin’s surface. 2. Use warm water to wet the area you plan to shave, but don’t soak your skin. Soaked skin will swell up around hair follicles, making shaving more difficult. Wet hair is softer to cut. Steam from the shower opens your pores for easier hair removal.

Proper Shaving Techniques

Many women complain of dryness and irritation directly after shaving, but with the right shaving technique, you can help reduce that. Don’t use regular body wash in place of shaving cream. Body washes often contain ingredients that are both drying and irritating to the skin. Items you will need: Exfoliating scrub, shaving cream or gel, new razor, moisturizer.

1. Exfoliate the area you’re going to shave with a salt or sugar scrub. By exfoliating, you remove dead skin cells, which helps you get a closer shave and allow your razor to glide more smoothly over the skin’s surface.

2. Use warm water to wet the area you plan to shave, but don’t soak your skin. Soaked skin will swell up around hair follicles, making shaving more difficult. Wet hair is softer to cut. Steam from the shower opens your pores for easier hair removal.

3. Slather shaving cream or shaving gel, on your legs, covering the area entirely. Do not use soap.

4. Shave against the direction of hair growth with a sharp, fresh razor. Be firm. Use the right type of razor for you. Razors are designed specifically. Many razors also contain a strip of moisturizer that softens skin and helps reduce irritation.

5. Moisturize the freshly shaven area with a lotion that contains an anti-inflammatory agent, such as menthol, urea or lactic acid. Anti-inflammatory agents reduce any redness,

Recipe

Crock Pot – Pot Roast

Ingredients:

2 cans of condensed cream of mushroom soup1 package of dry onion soup mix1 ¼ cups water3 carrots, cut up3 stalks of celery, cut up3 potatoes, peeled and cut up1 onion, chopped3-4 pound 7-bone pot roast

Directions:

In slow cooker, mix soup, soup mix and water.

Place pot roast, carrots, celery, onions and potatoes into soup mixture.

Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 8-9 hours.

Tips for Making Healthier Food Choices

1. Balance your calories. How many do you personally really need?

2. Enjoy food but eat mindfully. Recognize when you are full and do not over eat.

3. Reduce portion sizes. Use smaller plates.

4. Cut back on processed foods such as cakes, cookies and pizza; foods with high fat, sugar and salt. These foods should be eaten occasionally, not every day.

5. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low fat dairy. Use them for snacking.

6. Pay attention to your sodium intake. Read the labels to see how much added salt.

7. Choose low fat dairy, Skin or 1% will work best.

8. When grocery shopping, shop with a list and stick to it. Do not go to the store when you are hungry.

9. Eat small amounts of healthy fats. Use olive oil when you can. Do not use oils that have hydrogenated oil or shortening.

10. Drink lots of water. Cut back or eliminate sugary drinks!

There are many people in need all around us. You may have a friend or someone you know that has just had a baby, an illness or even an upcoming surgery. One great way is to help by bring them a meal. You can get your community and/or your friends involved by setting up a meal train. There are apps and websites directly dedicated to setting up a schedule for all of your friends to help your friend in need. Some simple tricks: 1.When dropping off a meal, plan not to stay more than 10 - 15 minutes.

2. Arrive at the time convenient for your friend.

3. Make enough for leftovers. Freezable meals are very nice. 4. Bring drinks, condiments, salad dressing, and dessert.
