Hi,
My name is Daniel. I'm doing an
apprenticeship to become a metal-
working specialist. I chose this profes-
sion after completing a pupil intern-
ship at Haver & Boecker.
Among other things, I learned how to
make a functional object out of a
piece of raw metal. This inspired me
just as much as the guidance and
cooperation with the trainers. The
basic course at the beginning of the
training has confirmed my choice of
career. The in-training seminars and
field trips are super.
After my apprenticeship, I would like
to continue my education as a
technician.
Daniel, apprentice in his second year
of training as a metalworking specialist
Hi,
I'm Marie and am training as an
industrial management assistant.
I'm discovering how diversified this
profession is when I work in the
various departments and perform a
wide range of tasks. This is helping
me to orient myself, to deepen my
interests, and to decide in which
direction my further professional
career can take. What I like about
being a commercial apprentice is that
I am becoming familiar with business
interrelationships, being shown how
to work independently, and have
contacts with customer around the
world. What I enjoy the most is that
every day brings new challenges.
Marie, apprentice in her first year of
training as an industrial management
assistant
Hi,
I'm Thomas and have completed an
apprenticeship as an industrial
mechanic at Haver & Boecker. Along
with my apprenticeship, I've already
begun my mechanical engineering
studies during my first year of training.
I was particularly interested in the
practical work in combination with the
theoretical aspects of my studies.
Looking back, I can say that this was
exactly the right decision. Thanks to
the accompanying studies, I've been
able to develop myself further perso-
nally, professionally, and methodically
and thus optimally prepare myself for
the challenges of my job. I'll keep my
fingers crossed that you will find the
right career start, too.
Thomas, extra-occupational student

Training and further education have had a high priority in our company right from the beginning. It is a
documented fact that we have been offering vocational training since 1905. Our own apprentice workshop
was established in 1940 and today is a modern training center that enables industrial-technical apprentices
to develop their skills. Apprentices receive full support from our qualified trainers and training advisors in
extra-curricular factory training courses.
At least once a year, each industrial and business apprentice participates in a joint, interdisciplinary project
to learn multidisciplinary cooperation.
Founded in 2007, the HAVER Academy combines all educational activities for employees and customers
ranging from vocational training to studies up to advanced training courses.
An active corporate culture and the social responsibility towards employees, customers, and society, which
far exceed the legal and contractual demands, contribute towards the motivation and long-term loyalty of
the people who work for and with Haver & Boecker.
Our vocational training program is based on integrated expertise and offers opportunities for career
management.

generally included in the training schedule. Cooperation with the technical departments is equally important as
marketing strategies. This is indicated in independently designed co-productions including a Packer Quartet card
game, a Perfect Flow reaction table, a BBQ, and a gear model (from top left to bottom right).

HAVER & BOECKER 38 39 AZUBI MOBIL - CAREER TO GO
AZUBI MOBIL - CARREER TO GO
Martin Mersmann (25) Sales Manager in Australia, completed his
apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician at HAVER &
BOECKER in 2013. During his apprenticeship, he completed a
4-week internship as part of the AZUBI Mobil program at our
subsidiary Haver & Boecker, Inc. in Conyers, Georgia, USA.
After working for two years at the Oelde headquarters, he joined
HAVER & BOECKER AUSTRALIA's After-Sales Department in
Perth. He has been working in new machine sales in Australia
since 2016.
What were you expecting when you went to Australia?
When you think of Australia, you think of sun, beaches, and
endless wide-open spaces. This is what I pictured in my mind.
It was not quite clear to me what I would expect professionally.
On the one hand, I had little work experience and on the other
hand, the HAVER & BOECKER's subsidiary in Australia had been
established rather recently. The department in which I now work
didn't even exist at that time. Since I have always been eager to
travel and curious about other countries and cultures, I was very
interested in this foreign assignment.
What motivated you to go to Australia? Did it meet your expectations?
Haver & Boecker first sent me on a four-week "look and see trip" to Australia so
I could get to know the country and people as well as the colleagues and the
subsidiary itself. I was rather impressed by the way of life and the openness of
the Australians and colleagues there. Having the opportunity to help set up a
new department is very exciting. I learned that age does not matter where there
is mutual trust, motivation, and commitment.
Did the internship in the USA help you?
In 2011, I completed an internship in the USA offered by Haver & Boecker during
training as part of the AZUBI Mobil program. This internship definitely helped to
upgrade my school English, which in turn helped me get off to a good start in
Australia. The fact that I already wanted to work abroad sometime even before
my internship confirmed that I was pursuing the right goal.
What are your future career plans?
It's nice to see the fruits of our work after two years here in Australia. It is so
motivating that I would like to continue to support the HAVER & BOECKER
AUSTRALIA team in Perth. I feel very comfortable with the Haver & Boecker family
and can imagine continuing to work for the company and several of its subsidiaries.
An apprenticeship or a dual course of study
at Haver & Boecker opens many doors for you
to join our international company.
