2008–2009 Professional Entertainment Season
These words have danced through my mind since my move to Guelph in early 2007. The possibility of memorable and inspiring performances must have been the dream of the vibrant community that brought River Run Centre to life over ten years ago. That’s what I’ve learned from the many stories I’ve heard this past year.
I’ve enjoyed hearing these stories and becoming familiar with the magnificent community of Guelph. As I plan for the next decade I am committed to ensuring that our programme honours that dream and reflects the rich diversity evident in our rapidly growing community.
My goal for the 2008–2009 season was to offer a broad range of professional programming. To that end, I’ve included comedy, music, ballet, family shows, musical theatre – and even acrobatics in our line-up. I was aiming for a varied series of quality performances that would offer something memorable for everyone in the community.
There are many other events to enjoy at River Run as well – from social gatherings and ceremonies to
meetings and lectures. I would especially like to acknowledge our many community-based organizations that use River Run stages for their seasonal performances. Without these organizations we would not be able to meet our commitment to provide diverse and engaging
experiences for the citizens of Guelph and surrounding communities.
I look forward to welcoming you to River Run. May your experience be
memorable!
