Instructions

• The examination is made up of two tasks. • You must take the lead in the discussion, elicit the teacher-examiner’s point of view and check for understanding at appropriate moments. • You must not use dictionaries or other resources at any time.

Task 1

• Read the two statements (A+B) in this stimulus and select one for a discussion with your teacher-examiner. • During the preparation time you may make notes on up to a maximum of one side of A4 paper. • You must not write on the stimulus. • You have approximately 6 to 7 minutes’ discussion time for Task 1. • You must: – tell the teacher-examiner which statement you have chosen – answer the two questions posed by the teacher-examiner – answer follow-up questions on the broader Theme.

Task 2

• Task 2 lasts approximately 10 to 11 minutes. • You must begin by giving a presentation referring to at least two of the written sources you have used as part of your research. This may last up to a maximum of 2 minutes. • The teacher-examiner will ask you follow up questions based on your presentation. • You will then take part in a broader discussion with the teacher-examiner based on your research as a whole.
