Publications : Preparation of all the notes and scientific books for my courses.

Research Interests:

Microbiology such as: microbial pollutions of food & feed specially by

fungi, identification & classification of fungi, isolation of fungi from different

sources, biodiversity of fungi, extraction & identification of mycotoxins,

pollution of different food & feed by mycotoxins, production of mycotoxins by

different fungi, factors affecting microbial growth and control of microbial

growth & mycotoxins formation on different food or feed.

Basic Biotechnology and Industrial Biotechnology such as production of

alternative renewable biofuels specially ethanol from agro-industrial

byproducts, production of single cells proteins from fungi & yeasts, bio-

production of important microbial products such as: baker yeast, alcohol,

organic acids (vinegar, citric, lactic, itaconic, ….), antibiotics, therapeutics (e.g.:

lovastations, cyclosporins, ergosterol, ergot alkaloids, kojik acid……), steroids

hormones (e.g.: cortisol, cortisone, testosterone, androstenedione….) anticancer

compounds produced by fungi and other on laboratories and semi-industrial

scales with the regulation of these production. Also, improvements of microbial

strains which used in different industries as well as improvements &

developments of industrial fermentation processes in addition to the quality

control programs in the field of food industries are of my research interests.

More than 70 scientific conferences, symposiums and workshops in the

research interests in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy, Spain and France.

Theses Supervised:

More than 45 M. Sc. and Ph.D. thesis in the field of taxonomy & physiology

of fungi, mycotoxins, pollution, control of mycobiota and mycotoxins in foods &

feeds as well as biotechnology for bio-production of some valuable compounds.
