PERSONAL STATEMENT The purpose of your Personal Statement is to tell us about you. It is important that you demonstrate why you want to study with us, why you have selected a particular course and why you think you are a suitable candidate for that course. The Personal Statement should be approximately 300 words and include: 1. ABOUT YOU In your introduction, tell us a little bit about yourself – tell us what school or other educational institution you attend, reflect on your schooling experience and tell us about your hobbies, interests and aspirations. You can also tell us about any academic and non- academic achievements you have. 2. WHY YOU WANT TO COME TO NOTRE DAME Tell us why you want to study at Notre Dame. What do you think Notre Dame has to offer you? In what ways do you think the University will meet your needs? Do you see yourself fitting in at Notre Dame? 3. WHY YOU WANT TO STUDY THE PARTICULAR COURSE YOU HAVE SELECTED Tell us what draws you to the course you have selected to study. What interests and personal qualities do you have that are relevant to that course?
