Overview
Mactech is a specialist supplier of subcontract personnel for construction and engineering activities, as well as Quality and NDT Inspection services, to the energy sectors worldwide. The company focuses extensively on Nuclear, Power, Oil, Gas, Renewables, Marine and Offshore. Established in 1986 they have many years of extensive experience in power, new build and energy projects around the world.
Their services enable clients to man-up larger projects from a fast, flexible manpower base with a wide range of substantial experience of engineering and construction projects. Mactech have provided services globally in all five continents; from nuclear stations all over Europe to pipelines in India, to offshore installations in Brazil, and construction projects in the Middle-East.
The company has an in-house logistics and operations team that can organise travel, accommodation, visas and any other legislative and domestic requirements needed for the international staffing of projects. With vast understanding and involvement of working in foreign tax environments, clients can be assured that all tax legalities will be met for each in-country worker.
With many years’ experience in both onshore and offshore industries, from nuclear plants and refineries to offshore platforms and jackets, the team have a great deal of hands-on knowledge that strengthens a client’s recruitment and/or inspection service need.

Through Mactech’s supply of personnel service, a full spectrum of activities within the Nuclear and Power sectors are provided for. Mactech are one on a limited number of companies that provide security clearance through EDF, for personnel working within the Nuclear sector.

From New Build to Decommissioning – Mactech Delivers
Mactech supply construction, engineering and inspection personnel as well as Quality and NDT Inspection services to the various energy sectors worldwide, focusing extensively on construction through the entire EPC process – fabrication, installation, inspection and commissioning. Mactech has extensive experience in working on large and small construction projects, both onshore and offshore, as well as new build nu-clear and power projects.

Experience - Nuclear New Build
Olkiluoto3, Nuclear Power Station EPR New Build, FinlandOLK3 is the first EPR design of its kind to be built in Europe, and is renowned as a high profile project throughout the European nuclear community. Mactech supplied the following services to this project:
• Supply of personnel for the complete chain of QA/QC surveillance, from QA/QC management to inspectors for the mechanical installation and erection.• NDT project management and supervision (oversight of all NDT subcontractors).• Third party/expediting inspection of subcontractors providing material and pipework to site.• Supply of experienced piping, lifting and mechanical supervision for erection and commissioning activities.• Supply of onsite document control and review services for database management and completions control.• Supply of a variety of welding, NDT and pipework supervisors and inspectors.
Mactech operated on this project for 4 years and in this time built up an excellent network of partners and suppliers that specialise in new build nuclear services for manpower, materials, project and construction database management systems, inspection/reporting procedures and consultancy.

Experience - DecommissioningMagnox, Bradwell Nuclear Station, UKAs an existing infrastructures approach the end of their useful life, decommissioning of onshore conventional and nuclear stations, has been a growing sector for Mactech. The company has been involved in the decommissioning of the Magnox Nuclear Power Station in Bradwell, Essex in support of one of our main mechanical clients. Services included:• SQEP teams fully trained in radiological protection including full dosimetry/ HSE management.• Supply of fully security cleared personnel for work on nuclear sites.• Mechanical – Fitters, platers, riggers and lifting services for strip out and removal activities.• Electrical and Instrument – Tradesmen, technicians and supervision. Activities associated with power distribution, DCS, fire alarms, lighting, instrumentation, lighting protection etc.• Plant and Equipment Operators – MEWPs and construction hoists, scissor lifts, tractors, tele-handlers, fork lift truck, heavy goods vehicles.• Inspection – Welding, piping, NDT, mechanical plant, electrical and instrument equipment.
Mactech’s services in decommissioning are built on their extensive experience of working in radiological environments. They can carry out a full risk assessment and evaluation of deplanting and demolition methodologies. Then deploy a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) team to carry out the agreed programme of work.
