Warm-Up

• Think of a time in your life when you felt hurt by someone else’s actions. Write about that event from the viewpoint of the victim. Now, write about the same event from the other person’s viewpoint, in effect playing devil’s advocate with your victim narrator. Read the two different versions. What can you learn from writing about something from these two different viewpoints?

• 1. What is the moral of the story?

• 2. How does this fable relate to what we have been talking about the past two weeks (in relation to the Cultural Awareness)?

• 3. DEBATE how the blind people perceived the elephant and COMPARE and CONTRAST that to the way that we perceive what was meant by people’s facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, volume of voice, and the way the people verbally express themselves.

• 4. How do perspectives change over time? (give me an example)

• 5. How does this fable relate to an anti-bullying campaign? What connection can you make?
