• Take out your editing marks sheet

• Check MLA formatting• Does it have all three parts:

intro, body, conclusion?• Are all paragraphs 5-8

sentences? If not, write “elaborate” next to those that are too short

• Underline the thesis twice• Underline the preview

once – is it in parallel form?

• Underline all topic sentences

• Read over your paper and mark any–Awkward wording (awk)–Sentences that don’t make

sense (?)–Fragments (frag)–Run-ons (RO)

RETURN PAPER TO THE AUTHOR & DISCUSS WHAT YOU NOTICED

• Look at the rubric• Check for every checkbox

in the rubric – if something is missing write a note to yourself on your paper to add it for the final draft

• Staple your outline to your rough draft and turn it in
