These stunning 25 anniversary gold proof coins are struck from 99.99% puregold, and feature the iconic red kangaroo design, originally introduced in 1989as part of the Australian Nugget gold coin program.

Designed by Dr Stuart Devlin AO CMG, goldsmith and jeweller to Her MajestyQueen Elizabeth II, the reverse of each coin portrays a bounding red kangaroosurrounded by stylised rays of sunlight.

This coin is available individually in a 1oz or 1/4oz size, or in a five-coin setwhich includes a 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz and a 1/20oz coin.

Only 600 of the 1oz coin will be issued from a maximum mintage of 1,500,while only 1,600 of the 1/4oz coins will be issued from amaximum mintage of 2,000. Only 400 five-coinsets will be released.

The individual 1oz and 1/4oz coins, andthe five-coin set are issued as Australianlegal tender and housed in a black displaycase with a timber lid, and accompaniedby a numbered Certificate.

Australian Megafauna– Megalania2014 1oz Silver Proof Coin

The final release in the Australian Megafauna series is the Megalania, a giantextinct goanna or monitor lizard which was part of a range of megafaunalcreatures that inhabited Australia during the Pleistocene period.

Struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality, the coin is issued asAustralian legal tender, and features a Megalania set against a colouredbackground, designed by world-renowned paleo-artist Peter Trusler.

The obverse of the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadleyeffigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, theyear-date, and the monetary denomination.
