Cost:

What is included in that price:

-the trip itself to include a full-time guide

-all lodging

-all group ground transportation in Peru

-domestic airfare from Lima to Puerto Maldonado to Cuzco

-most meals

-any entrance fees

What is NOT included in that price:

-round-trip airfare from your home airport to Lima, Peru;

one-way airfare from Cuzco to Lima (about $90)

-some meals

-incidentals like souvenirs, laundry, individual group

transportation, any passport costs, travel/health

insurance, travel inoculations/medication

UNI Tuition:

3 graduate credit hours in Geography

-the price is reduced from $431 to only $75 per credit

Successful completion of the credit hours re-

quires each participant to develop some sort of

standards based curricular materials for their

classroom/students.

Travel Style:

This is a National Geographic Journeys trip

which focuses on:

-educational aspects of travel, not just touristy stuff

-nicer lodging and meals

-opportunities for unstructured time to explore

(such as some dinners out on our own)

-using in domestic flights and private vehicles so less

time is lost in transit

-Showcasing local examples of National Geographic’s

mission

*this trip includes hiking the Inca Trail which requires a reasonably good level of physical fitness and the

willingness to camp overnight.

** if hiking is not suitable for you they support other activities in Cuzco and can arrange the Machu Picchu trip

via train/car instead of on foot. In that case, you would join those that are hiking on the day of the Machu

Picchu visit.
