Map of Peru Scavenger HuntUsing a map or globe, find the following locations and fill-in the answers.

1. The beaches along the coast of Tumbes province in northern Peru are very popular. Draw three blue waves in the Pacific Ocean to the west of Tumbes.

2. Follow the coast down to La Libertad. The city of Trujillo is here and has ruins from a pre-Incan Empire, the Chan Chan ruins. Draw a yellow square here with yellow diagonal stripes.

3. Lima, the capital of Peru, is further south down the coast. Make an orange star over Lima Province.

4. Continue along the coast to the bottom of the Ica province. Here sits the Nazca desert, which contains large line drawings of geometric patterns and animals. Make a red spiral shape here.

5. Travel east into the north of the Cusco region. Machu Picchu, the ruins of an ancient city, lie here. Draw three brown, horizontal lines, one above the other here. These represent the steps built into the hills here.

6. You can reach this area by taking a train through Sacred Valley. Draw a black train track below your brown lines.

7. South of here is Arequipa. Find it on the map and draw two volcanoes here. The buildings in the city here are made of white volcanic rock.

8. A large lake, Lake Titicaca, sits on the border of Peru and Bolivia. Puno is a port city that serves as a gateway to this lake. Draw a blue lake to the east of Puno.

9. In the Loreto province in the north of Peru is the Amazon jungle. Draw a blue line horizontally across this province.

10. Next to your river, draw a green palm tree and a simple brown monkey.
