Pet Adoption Project

You will be designing a creative pet portrait based on a real animal that is hoping for a home from local

shelters. Art is powerful and can help encourage action. These pieces will be sent to the shelter for their

use. Do your best, you are not only making something beautiful but you can change the life of these

animals.

Your job includes:

Researching local shelter websites to select an animal in need

Planning how you will visually represent the pet with preliminary sketches

Create an appealing description that will convince someone to adopt this particular pet

Use your sketches to create your final design ( you can use ANY medium-paint, collage, marker, crayon,

digital, etc.)

Put the finished artwork side by side with the shelter photo on a power point page along with your

description of the pet and save as a PDF.

Get creative with the materials you select. How will you get the

attention of potential families?

Consider the colors and accessories you select. What mood does the color create? How

does adding flowers or a bow tie change the story of the pet?
