Once  there  was  a  man  named  Peter  Jones  and  this  is  what  he  looked  like:  He  had  long  grey  hair,  a  long  grey  curly  beard,  a  BIG  nose,  BIG  ears  and  one  lazy  eye.    

 Peter  wore  round-­‐rimmed  glasses  (like  Harry  Potter).          

Peter  rode  a  tricycle.  Attached  to  the  back  was  a  cart  with  two  wheels.  

 People  called  Peter  the  ‘DOGNAPPER’.  Why  did  they  call  him  the  Dognapper?  Because  you  would  always  see  Peter  on  his  tricycle  with  a  dog  in  his  cart  -­‐  a  different  dog  each  time.    

Sometimes  he  would  have  a  little  Shitzu  in  his  cart.  

       

 And  sometimes…  

He  would  have  a  Great  Dane  in  his  cart.  

 

Some  people  ASSUMED  he  had  stolen  the  dogs  to  put  them  in  dog  jail,  or  to  use  them  to  sniff  people’s  pockets  for  money  or,  even  worse…    to  sell  them  for  their  hair  to  make  DOG  BOOTS  and  GLOVES  for  the  Antarctic.    

   But  they  were  WRONG!…          

As  Jim  will  tell  you    

                                                           One  day  Jim  was  walking                                                                Along  Jack  Russell  Avenue…                                    …when  he  saw  Peter’s  tricycle  and  cart    parked  in  front  of  Mrs.  Acorn’s    three      

There  was  Peter  returning  Mrs.  Acorn’s  lost  poodle,  Jane.    

   

                                     

Once  she  got  her  poodle  back,  Mrs.  Acorn  fed  Jane.  She  was  so  HAPPY  that  she  gave  Peter  a  BIG  kiss  on  the  cheek.        

   Peter  was  SHOCKED.  He  had  never  been    KISSED  on  the  cheek  before.      Jim  thought  “HOW  WEIRD?!...  Why  is  Peter  returning  poodle  Jane  to  Mrs.  Acorn  if  he’s  a  Dognapper?”    

So,  Jim  walked  up  to  Mrs.  Acorn  and  said,  “Do  you  know  him?”  “Yes  of  course  I  know  him.”  said  Mrs.  Acorn,    “He’s  my  brother.”  Then,  Mrs.  Acorn  went  back  inside  her  house  and  had  a  cup  of  tea.      The  next  day,    Jim  saw  Peter  again,  giving  lots  of  dogs    back  to  their  owners.                                

Jim  went  to  the  village  square  and  told  everyone.  They  believed  him  and  everyone  was  happy  again.
