API ValvesAPI Valves are used for bottom loading and unloading of petroleum tankers, API valves are typically mounted to the piping below each tank compartment, using the built in 4” TTMA flange connection.Two styles are available:1) Load only (without handle) which permits terminal loading only. Tanker unloading would be achieved through another tank connection2) Load/unload (with a handle) which permits both terminal loading, and fuel unloading through the valveManufactured to American Petroleum Institute standard API RP-1004, which allows for positiveconnection to drop adapters and rack couplers such as the Dixon Bayco 5300/5400 series rack coupler.

API Dust Caps and Dust Plugs with Pull HandlesDelivery hoses used on tankers are often stored in tubes mounted to the side of the tanker. To make it easier for the tanker operators to remove delivery hoses from their storage tubes, Dixon has released Cam & Groove Caps and Plugs with pull handles. The tanker operator simply grabs the handle and easily pulls the hose out of the storage tube.Some additional benefits of using Cam & Groove Caps and Plugs with pull handles are they:

y Protect the hose coupling from damage y Help prevent possible environmental issues due to leaking residue left in an open hose

API Gravity Drop AdaptersAPI gravity drop adapters are connected to the API valve, to adapt the API connection to either a 3” or 4” cam and groove connection. The cam and groove connection allows a petroleum drop hose to be connected to the tanker, enabling the fuel to be unloaded. Manufactured to connect to American Petroleum Institute standard API RP-1004.

TTMA Flanged Sight Flow IndicatorsTTMA sight flow indicators are often used between the API valve and tanker piping, allowing the operator to see fuel flow to or from the tank. They can be used in many other applications where a visual of liquid flow is required. It has been manufactured to connect with the TTMA (Tank Truck Manufacturer’s Association) flange pattern. It has an aluminum body, acrylic sight flow and Baylast™ seals.
