A long time agoPichler & Gattringer was founded by Karl Pichler and Rudolf Gattringer more than 35 years ago.

P&G soon established themselves as experts in design and designed products for such name brands as Atomic, Blizzard and Fischer (skis), Christian Dior and Optyl (eyeware) and, last but not least, the most important brands of the Brau Union Austria.

Since then P&G has continued worked for the beverage industry and currently handles numerous brands spread throughout Western and especially Central and Eastern Europe.

Pichler & Gattringer developed a complete redesign of the logo and labelling for 728 years old Baden-Württemberg‘s (GER)Fürstenberg Brewery. The new logo and label design make the comprehensive repositioning of Fürstenberg tangible in every way. We’ve uniformly reconceived the brand identity across all products, standardising the logo for all beer varieties and communication applications. This coherence has resulted in the evolvement of an unmistakable profile and provided Fürstenberg with the means to exploit the full potential of the historic brand.

For the eight years Pichler & Gattringer has successfully managed the Romanian premium brand Ciuc, the brand has experienced continuous development. For Ciuc we designed an unique relief for the bottle, along with a visually striking neck and body labels of metallic gold to emphasise the Ciuc brand’s premium quality. Bucegi – a popular classic

The end of Romania’s turbulent era threatened to take the old Bucegi brand forever from the market. Pichler & Gattringer recreated this classic beer with a completely renewed design and brand identity for a much deserved and successful comeback. The lively label design and name refer to the popular Bucegi National Park and mountains that represent the brand image. The visual appreciation with a contemporary reworking has won this traditional brand fans both old and new.

Tian Shan – in a new premium package

How do you raise the design of a brand named after the 7,000-meter “celestial mountains” to an even higher level? Pichler & Gattringer’s answer: a winning design concept that respects the overall design through-line. This meant a unique relief bottle design with a matching neck and label of extraordinary fine gold glitter. Dynamic symbolism takes the form of an eagle gliding above it all with snow-capped peaks to emphasise the national reference on Kazakhstan. The striking colour clearly makes it stand out from the product range. The result is the highest quality and allows the “pride of Kazakhstan,“ as fans call their favourite brand, to appear in a new, premium form.

Skopsko – Premium market leader with a new look

To stay market leader, one must constantly improve and evolve. Modernising renowned brands represents a specific design challenge and objectives must be co-ordinated. The new Skopsko brand needed to convey modernity without losing the brewery’s traditional values. That was where the art lay, to combine old and new in a visual whole that connects directly to the brand’s influence. Pichler & Gattringer designed a new brand logo and focused on the medals from numerous international awards. The gold gloss on the labels achieves a further visually striking effect. With success, our new design will bring high demand.

The relaunch of Rechitskoe required clearly updating the brand with a contemporary look, whilst keeping an eye on future development. For many years Pichler & Gattringer has overseen the leading Austrian premium brand Zipfer with various packaging designs and POS materials, catering and event promotion materials. Recently we have successfully adapted the bottle 6-packs, clusters, wraparound cartons and shrinkfoil can packs. Innovative design and fresh ideas are always in demand and recently we developed the modern Zipfer Märzen can and Zipfer Sparkling

KAISER RADLER

The trend towards Radler (beer-based mixed drinks) can be seen throughout Europe; fruity lemon or alpine herbs soda combined with premium beer of the best quality - the result is an alcohol-reduced and zesty mixture for hot summer days. Kaiser stands for extraordinary beery taste and so does also the refreshing Kaiser Sport Radler, a mix of beer and fizzy lemonade, Kaiser Alpin Radler is an aromatic combination of beer and herbal extracts.

The whole Kaiser Radler packaging was redesigned by Pichler & Gattringer, freshness and fruitiness - the packaging design should communicate this, too. The new Kaiser Radler design communicates naturalness and a refreshing taste experience, an invitation for a modern Radler delight without losing sight of the special character of the popular beer Kaiser.

Hofbräu Kaltenhausen is the earliest brewery of Salzburg, nowadays it is a place where beer specialities are brewed according to traditional recipes.Pichler & Gattringer designed the three main blends

„Kellerbier“, „Original“ and „Weisse“ – traditional beer specialities of Salzburg’s region Tennengau brewed naturally and with great care.The design should transport old brewing tradition and handcraft based on knowledge gathered over hundreds of years, but interpreted in a modern way and in line with taste preferences of present times.

Schwechater – a beer brand with history

Schwechater has been pioneering achievements in brewing since 1632. In 1841 Anton Dreher presented his first bottom-fermented lager beer in the history of brewing, the world-famous beer Schwechater. In order to revive this tradition, Pichler & Gattringer developed on behalf of Brau Union the nostalgic Schwechater Zwickl design, along with an appropriate gift edition.We also take special pride in the Schwechater 0.5 l cans, the top canned beer in Austria.

Immer öfter greifen die Kunden zu abgepackten Produkten in den Selbstbedienungsvitrinen. SB-Verpackungen bieten dabei nicht nur ein hohes Maß an Funktionalität, wie Hygiene oder Produkt-haltbarkeit, sondern gewinnen immer mehr an Bedeutung durch ihre Kommunikationsfunktion. Kreatives Verpackungsdesign ist immer gefragt. Pichler & Gattringer gestaltete für die Marken Tann und Holzbauer eine ganze Reihe neuer SB-Produkte mit einem ansprechenden Packungsdesign. Die neuen SB-Verpackungen sind nicht nur ansprechend und appetitanregend, sie bieten dem ernährungsbewussten Konsumenten außerdem übersichtlich eine ganze Reihe wichtiger Informa-tionen. Durch eine intelligente Farbgestaltung und die teilweise mit Sichtfenstern ausgestatteten Verpackungen wird im Regal eine gute Signalwirkung sowie Differenzierung erzielt.
