Fifth Community PharmacyAgreement funds.
This incentive will beapplicable for the 2013-14

The incentive payment is animportant step in supporting
community pharmacys role inimproving the use of medicinesand reducing the number of
adverse medication events byembedding Electronic Transfer
of Prescriptions (ETP) intopractice. It will encouragemore pharmacies to adjust
their workow to facilitate thescanning of barcodes on allelectronic prescriptions.
The ePSI will be funded
through a reallocation ofexisting ETP funding within
the 5th Community PharmacyAgreement (5CPA). For eligiblepharmacies, it will mean a
payment of around $2000 perpharmacy.
To qualify for the ePSI,
pharmacies will need to:1. Be eligible for thePharmacy Practice Incentive(PPI) Community Services
Support priority area, and
2. Meet (or exceed) speciedETP Scan Rates over two
review periods. The rst targetis an ETP Scan Rate of 15%of all original prescriptions,
and you should be aiming toachieve this rate of scanning, orhigher, by November 2013.
