a criminal case against himself.

Subu Kechu an Independent candidate from Arunachal West constituency has declared one case related

to mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees.

Financial Background

Crorepati Candidates: Out of the 37 candidates analysed, 23 (62%) are crorepatis.

Party-wise Crorepati Candidates: Among major parties, 5 INC candidates (71%) out of 7 are crorepatis,all 4 BJP candidates are crorepatis and 3 (75%) out of 4 AAP candidates are crorepatis.

sworn affidavits of all 101 candidates who are contesting in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Lok Sabha 2014

Elections. The following is a consolidated summary of the same.

Criminal Background

Candidates with Criminal Cases: 7 (7%) out of 101 candidates contesting in Phase 1 and 2 of Lok

Sabha elections have declared criminal cases against themselves.

Candidates with serious criminal cases: 3 out of 101 candidates have declared serious criminal cases like attempt to murder, rape etc.

State-wise Candidates with Criminal Cases: 3 (6%) out of 51 candidates in Assam, 3 (23%) out of 13

candidates in Tripura and 1 (9%) out of 11 candidates in Arunachal Pradesh have declared criminal
