PLACEM AKING | PHILADELPHIA | DESIGN

STORIES THAT NEED TO BE HEARD.

What is Placemaking?

Placemaking is a process for activating public spaces to create an emotional connection to users.

The field studies and prototype phase occurs through public and private affiliation support. It allows the viewpoints of diverse contributors to be synthesized into a tried and true social practice, organized in a prospective timeframe.

What is Design Thinking?

It's a resolution method that utilizes empathetic modeling, to drive creative insights that yield innovative solutions.

The League actively gathers information on people learning about collaborative situations and design thinking. We have an interest in working together to discover themes and patterns and intercept encounters through public workshops.

There is a technical centered and a human centered world view. Great design is made from a human centered approach.

We all carry our experiences, understanding and expertise with us.

These conceptions are assets to bring to each design challenge.

Most important part of designing for someone is to gain empathy for that person.

Placing the emphasis on storytel l ing and focus on THEM until it 's t ime to change partners.

(Best and most simple way, is to have a conversation and ask open ended questions.

Is the question direct and focused

on impact?

Does the question allow for concrete solutions?

Does the question allow for contexts and constratints?

QUESTIONS TO ASKWe want to immediately have you TO experience it yoursel f. The workshop AND JOIN THE DISCUSSION.

Design Projects ARE TIMED AND LIMITED TO 30 Minutes.Although it might feel quick, this is the time to lean into the project and work with the constraints given.

IN THE LEAGUE YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO Interview your FELLOW MEMBERS.
