PDEA RO II during the 28th Regular Meeting of the League of Municipalities to be held on February 13, 2019 at the Session Hall, Legislative Building, Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya.
2. Please be informed that the above-signed, together with IAIII Rosenia
Cabalza, Provincial Officer-Nueva Vizcaya and Ms. Louella A. Tomas, Information
Officer/C, PECIS, PDEA RO II attended the 28th Regular Meeting of the League of Municipalities held on February 13, 2019 at the Session Hall, Legislative Building, Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya.
3. The activity was attended by ten (10) Local Chief Executives of the Municipalities of Solano, Dupax Del Sur, Dupax Del Norte, Sta. Fe, Villaverde, Aritao, Bambang, Quezon, Diadi and Ambaguio. The activity started with the following preliminaries: Doxology by Dupax Del Norte Choir, Singing of the National Anthem, Nueva Vizcaya Hymn, and Welcome Remarks by Atty. Timothy Joseph E. Cayton, Mayor, Dupax Del Norte.
4. The Orientation Proper started at about 1:30 PM where the above-signed gave an update on Barangay Drug-Clearing Program in Nueva Vizcaya, expressed her thanks for the support of the LGU while Ms. Louella A. Tomas, Chief, PECIS discussed DDB Board Regulation No. 2, Series of 2018 otherwise known as, “Balay Silangan- Guidelines for Community Involvement in Reforming Drug Offenders into Self-Sufficient and Law-Abiding Members of Society.
5. The above-signed reiterated that in order for a certain municipality to be declared Drug-Cleared, Balay Silangan must first be established in the municipality to sustain drug-clearing efforts. For the municipalities that have been previously declared as Drug-Cleared, same shall also be established.
6. As agreed upon by the body, the LMP shall pass a Resolution for the establishment of a Provincial Balay Silangan in Nueva Vizcaya that will cater to all constituents of the 15 municipalities. Said Resolution will be forwarded to the Provincial Governor and PPOC for their appropriate action.
Mayor Ronelie Valtoribio of Villaverde, whose municipality has been assessed by the ROC as Drug-Cleared Municipality informed the body that the construction of the proposed Balay Silangan in her municipality is already on-going. She will furnish PDEA a copy of the approved plan for the said construction.
7. Likewise, the LMP shall also pass a Resolution commending PDEA RO II for their BDCP efforts in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya as well as their assistance during meetings/conferences of the LMP and PPOC.
